This is a How-To video for changing the oil on a Kawasaki Mule 610cc. Below is a list of materials and tools you will need to complete this project. Tools & Hardware
1. Oil Filter Wrench
2. Oil Pan
3. ¾” or 18mm socket and racket with extension (or large Allen key)
4. Safety Glasses
5. Vinyl Gloves if desired
6. Wheel chocks
7. Blocks or wheel ramp
8. SAE 10W-40 oil
9. Funnel
10. Sharpie to mark the date and hours
11. Shop towels for clean up

Decent video, I wish you had stated how much oil it holds, BTW the 610 is the model; NOT the ccs, that model has a 401cc engine!

@@markrush5013 It's actually 1.5 qts with a filter change, two quarts will greatly over fill it!!

mine takes 2 quarts. read your manual l guess.

My manual says 1.5 quarts. I guess you have to buy 2 quarts but you'd better not use them.

shouldn't you take it off the blocks before you check the oil level? with it on blocks all the oil is at the fron of the oil pan... just saying..

@xrpstacker9436, yes I think it would be best to return it to level before checking the oil level.

thanks! l changed my oil for the first time yesterday thanks to your vid. the drain plug was insanely hard to get loose but l finally got it. for the life of me l cant figure out why they make the drain plug on such a rugged machine out of plastic and then put it in such a place that its likely to get rounded off trying to loosen it.

Good Video, straight to the point. Just one thing, the added comment about pre-filling the filter with oil. Not possible on a Horizontally mounted filter like this one!!!!

Just busting balls here... but you marked the filter with date and hours........sooooo, you're telling me you need to lift mule and crawl under it to check last time changed??????? Might want to just but a steno pad and keep it in glove compartment.... 🤔 Again...just breaking balls... thx for vid

I always fill the empty filter. This way there's no air circulation

@David Suminski, great comment that is something I usually do prior to installing, but I missed it this time. It hasn't caused any issues but does take a bit longer to fill the oil reservoir and filter when not pre filling the filter.

@@jacobsupgrades its just something I've done forever, personal choice lol . No hate just a suggestion ( OCD kicking in) you should always return the mule to level before checking its fluid level.

how do you fill the oil filter when you turn it sideways to install it, oil WILL run out ,,
