If I may suggest, when using cartridges (new, or pre-used), squeeze same after attaching to the section; allow two or three drops to emanate from the nib tines - thereafter, you should not get any hard starts. Whilst I have enormous hands (like shovels), I can use the 'Sport' models - the 'Lilliput', however is entirely too slim for a comfortable grip. Thank you for such an enthusiastic advocacy for these pocket scribes :)

In a past video, I filled a cartridge and placed my pen in a small glass jar to let gravity bring the ink down. A viewer commented that I could give the plastic cartridge a squeeze to force the ink into the nib more quickly. It worked! I also have several Sports in plastic and AL and the Liliput in the gold finish. I did add a clip to them. I too enjoy F and EF nibs in my Hobonichi planners, but have recently fell in love with B and Stub nibs because I can really enjoy my inks! Thanks for sharing!

I just received my long-awaited, Fire Blue, Lilliput, and I was disappointed to learn that the Kaweco Sport converter is a bit too long for it. I’m so grateful to you for demonstrating the reuse of cartridges with the injector. Now, I can use any ink I like.

Oh, I suddenly realized that Kaweco Sport EF is the perfect pen for me to use European standard cartridge ink with very fine nib like most of Japanese F nib. So, I don't need to buy bottled ink to enjoy beautiful color of J. Herbin, Diamine, Montblanc inks. Thank you for your info.

Bauhaus! Love my Kuh-veco's. I would like a Lilliput in fireblue, but they're kind of pricey. I draw with mine and like the portability with a pocket sketchbook.

I have 3 Kaweco pens. I don't use them much. When I do however, I really enjoy them. Favourite nib is a sport with a 1.1 nib. Very smooth. I got a montiverde mini converter for it and it's great.

Wow! I know you've said before that you had small hands but couldn't fully appreciate what "small" was til you held the Skyline Sport unposted! It's one of my favorite pocket pens, too but posting is a must for me!

You can eyedropper them too... and they hold quite a bit. But like you, I like changing ink a lot so syringes and cartridges are the only way to fly.

Thanks for the review, thinking about a Kaweco. However, for grading it wouldn't hold enough ink for me. For that I like to use my TWSBI Eco, huge capacity (for red ink :) ) .. plus I can always easily see how much ink is left. These days though, all my grading is happening online :-/

To start a recently inked pen, just stroke the breathing hole of the niib with your finger couple times, better with a wet finger. The finger creates a slight negative pressure that brings down the ink to the nib. (And wipe off your finger immediately 😊)

I really want a Kaweco sport, but about a month ago I purchased a Kaweco Perkeo in a fine. Took me forever to get it to write. Learned how to do some tuning and polishing from great KZfaqrs and it works well with some expected feedback now. So a little concerned about the Sport. This was very helpful though. Because when I decide, I think I’ll get the EF as it looks a little more like my Japanese mediums?

I just bought the Kaweco Skyline Sport this week and did not notice the ink cartridge inside until I opened a new one! Any suggestion for keeping the one I opened fresh? I'll put some tape over it for now. You have a fine voice and it is a pleasure to listen to you discussing the pens. I hope all is well as two years ago seems a long way off now.

Still wondering if i want a kaweco brass sport for christmas :P I carry a brass zippo that it would match reeeally nicely with hehe. But it has to be comfy enough for me to actually want to use it!!

The only reason I have a Kaweco is that it has the cheapest BB nib I could find. Works great, cheesy plastic.

Hey I’m thinking of picking up a sport in EF for Christmas. However, I’m a lefty and will be using it for note taking on cheap paper. Will this make the pen smear, feather, or bleed through in any way? I’m new to the fountain pen world so any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Respectfully, all you need to prime the nib is to squeeze cartridge gently a few times.

Does anyone know if the Liliput accepts the slightly longer 34 caliber cartridges?

I must be doing something wrong. ...if I take an ink cartridge off the pen tit, and put it back on, many times it won't stay on. Seems it reams out the hole and sooner or later it falls off into the body.
