KAYAK CAMPING - The Whole River

Come along for Day 3 of 170 miles in 7 days of kayak camping perfection on the Greenbrier River in West Virginia. We launch in Durbin, WV and continue our journey to Hinton WV. Day 3 was another perfect day! Fighting through dreary weather, the team achieves freedom through acceptance. Cruising into Marlinton and then fishing for the fabled trout of Duncan Rocks. What an incredible day. I believe it is the best long distance kayak camping river east of the Mississippi. We enjoyed the most perfect day imaginable and ended with a fantastic catch and cook, riverside!

What a great River trip! I'm gonna have to check out that Shepard's Pie recipe. I got a great Thanksgiving Dinner that I love making, and eating in the backcountry. Can't beat those homemade meals, so satisfying in more ways than one. Cant wait for the rest of the series.

Were any of these campsites designated sites from the GreenbrierRiver trail? Its a trail thats supposed to follow the river Good looking video for day 3!

I am not aware of any designated sites. There may be some, but we generally prefer undeveloped backcountry camping anyway. Thanks a ton Wes!

Hey Pete, loving the info, tips and trips your provide on here. I’ve got a question for you regarding your camera charging gear on this trip. What are you using and how do you guarantee you have enough juice for a trip like this?

Hey Pete! Is that the Performance Tour paddle from rpc3 you're using or the Adventure Tour? How do you like it? I'm in the market for a new lightweight touring paddle.

Hey JBD! I actually have both. I use almost entirely the performance tour. The adventure tour comes along as the backup paddle on every trip. I just prefer the more whitewater style blade design. They are both great.
