My initial impressions after a few months of owning a Feelfree Lure 13.5 Overdrive while doing some spring fishing on the local river.

I have the 11.5 but I'm thinking of upgrading to a 13.5 but not sure if the weight will be an issue. Is it bad moving it around out of the water?

It's 99lbs without the drive in. The wheel makes it a bit easier to maneuver but it can be a pain to load onto my trailer depending on the ramp. A bed extender on a truck is much easier. I just bought some sandtraks for it so I'm going to see if those help with loading/unloading. I'm 6' and about 250 lbs so for me the stability was most important.

I'm gonna be doing some work on the boat in the next few weeks. I'll try to get it out, didn't use it as much this year unfortunately as I was doing primarily river fishing

hey what is that compartment that is in between the pedal drive and the front hatch?

It's just a shallow storage area, they have a little cooler bag you can buy for it but I just use it for soft plastics. The lid can be used as a cutting board.

I've been meaning to make a long term review video. I like to fish out of it a lot on bigger lakes, especially in the summer. An anchor would help I honestly just never bothered putting one on. It's really stable and I can stand in it and fish fairly easily. My one problem with it is it's like a BMW sports car. It's constantly in the shop (garage) fixing some random thing. Usually it's nothing that can stop a day of fishing but I've gotten into the habit of tightening bolts when I'm loading it up to fish and sometimes again when I'm leaving the lake. My buddy sells them and another friend worked at his shop. They both told me no one else has as many breakage issues as I do. Feel free has been great with customer service for the most part. Never been an issue getting spare parts. I will say I have broken just about everything you can in the boat (some being partially my fault, most just some weird series of events). I think all things considered I would buy from them again, their customer support being the primary reason. That being said when I go on a trip with it for over a week I almost always bring my native ultimate as a back up just in case.

@@wanderingoglethorpe I gotcha. I just purchase the feel free 13.5 v2 paddle overdrive version. It's a bit spendy and my first kayak purchase but I figured getting more into fishing and outdoorsy stuff would be worth the extra money. I know little about kayaking and fishing so I'm excited to get into it! Thanks for the response too, ya i am sure I'll be doing some maintencing on it but that shouldnt be a problem I'll figure it out as I go! Also I just bought a roof car rack dp you think that would suffice for hauling it? I dont have a truck and trailer setup or nothing

You should practice loading and unloading it yourself, especially for a roof rack. It's a heavy kayak and you don't want to be figuring it out at the launch without any tools to help you get it on.
