Kayak Fishing in the Lake District on Ullswater, Catching Trout & Perch

2 жыл бұрынThis video is something a little different and this time is a solo course fishing video up in Cumbria in the Lake District, it starts with me catching a lovely Wild Brown Trout from Lake Ullswater.
I then stay in my car camper which is a VW minivan style MPV converted into a mini camper van overnight near Aira Force Falls. After a great night's sleep, I head out on the lake on my sit on top fishing kayak where I try Fly Fishing for Trout and finish by Fishing for Perch by drop-shotting earthworm which resulted in some very nice Lake Perch.
The Lakes is a stunning spot and the whole trip or adventure was enjoyable throughout, eating well with Fresh Cooked Wild Brown Trout plus brews and cakes. As ever there is Time-Lapse footage this time of the mountains, clouds and weather.
I catch loads of Perch and all my Kayak tests following a repair were successful. It rained quite a lot but didn’t put the fish off at all.
I tried to create a true representation of my trip being a super relaxing fishing day. The Mountains, Hills & area were amazing and capturing this scenery made for a great time.

Thanks for the kind comment pal, I've been told "God loves a try-er" so I did what I could with the time at my disposal, can't always count on the weather now can we? Thanks for the comment Philip, my dad is all good now, thanks for the well wish, obviously I'm/we are saving up from past no show (cake & brew sections) for a mega cake a brew section for our next sea fishing adventure.... Great Vlog . I read ullwater was free fishing ? Is it free or do ya need to buy a permit ?

Hi thanks for the cool comment 😎 as far as I am aware it's free fishing except for the obvious general UK Rod Licence needed for all UK rivers, lakes and waterways. Hope you can get out fishing, all the best pal. 🎣👍

I'll have to try drop shotting. I usually just spin without much success. Is that a real worm your using or an artificial one ?? Or should I say can you use artificial ones ?

I’m lucky to have a mainly course tackle shop close to me so I grab a pot of small worms before I go fresh water fishing anywhere, it does make perch fishing very easy and so yes is a real worm. BUT absolutely you can catch perch on artificial baits and lures. Just as an example I catch my trout mainly on wet and dry flies and commonly catch perch while Trout fishing too with the fly. Considering technically fly’s are classed as an artificial bait or a lure you can obviously catch perch on all manner of artificial baits including artificial worm. There are some nice Pike in Ullswater, as with all the big lakes, hope your able to find some if you plan on a session to target them. All the best pal. Tightlines

@@FindingFishUK ended up hitting lake coniston on my boat it was a hard day fishing had 1 Jack pike the weed situation on there with lures was frustrating.

@calmck3164 glad you managed a session on the water pal...me and my brother went out on the yaks recently on coniston (tried a film but the wind was terrible) couldn't find any fish until we anchored and perhaps had 7 Perch between us, but yes in parts of coniston the weed can scupper many fishing plans, but you didn't blank so always a success even if it might not of felt that way.
