Got a couple days to drive out to Oklahoma and fish a river that was all new and definitely not what I was expecting. Big boulders and trees all through the river with several large drops with swift current pulling our kayaks all over.

This channel has helped me through some tough times. Anytime I need to be centered I start watching this channel. I'm a native of Clevegas and love to see some familiar sights. John sets a good example as what a good Tennessee Christian friend is supposed to be. Thanks for the content.

This reminds me of canoeing with my wife for the first time in an aluminum canoe on the Delaware River . She sat in front and I told her her main job was to watch out for rocks .So we start off and in about a minute there's a CRUNCH and she says ," there's one " a few seconds later another CRUNCH and she says " there's another one ".. and that's how the whole trip went .

Wow, this brings back memories...a long time ago, when I was in the Air Force and stationed in OKC, my wife and I would go there and camp and fish. It's a neat place - a sort of mountain stream with cypress trees. Tick capital of the world. Sadly, my wife is a memory too - she died unexpectedly at 38, so this video is a bit bittersweet.

@@mrs.vasquezz thanks...from our human perspective, yes, too young. However, it's different from God's perspective. I never got angry with God over her death, although I still don't completely understand why she had to go so young. I consider myself lucky to have had 14 years with her; the people who really got shorted were my kids, all girls, who didn't have that female influence growing up - I was a poor substitute in that regard.

The Choctaw named that river... Two Choctaw hunters were in a Dugout canoe floating the river, when they hit the Rapids and the canoe turned over throwing the hunters in the water and one of the hunters broke his bow, that's why they call it broken bow. Not really, but it sounds good. LOL

Having spent the majority of my life in Oregon around whitewater rivers I have a healthy respect for them. There’s always a few lost to the river each year. I got hung up on a fallen tree on the Rogue River and went under it and luckily popped up on the other side. We lost a 16 year old great niece on the Umpqua and it’s a pretty gentle float. Everyone was dumped out of the raft they were in and she was caught in a strainer. Our river here in Montana is a series of reservoirs so mostly nice and easy. Also good to see that the Old Town is a pretty sturdy kayak. Looks like it was a really fun trip.

You mentioned about the fish being fat & chunky. That's always a great sign, that that River is, with Minnows and Frogs, and whatnot, feeding the fish very well. That's great! Loved the Aerial footage that you shot. You have a lot of talent putting a video together. Of course, over the past several years, you've had plenty of practice, and plenty of time to hone your craft. Man! Those rapids would definitely give me pause, as to whether I'd try to find as safe of a passage as I could, or just stop right there, and just fish there. You're braver than I am! All in all, I'd have to say, That Brother John had a good day!

You are on the Mtn Fork River down below Broken Bow Lake. It is a great fishing lake, but I have never fished in the river there. However, I used live in Tulsa and every single year, I would take a weeks vacation and fish the Mtn Fork at Smithville, Oklahoma, about 40 miles north of Broken Bow and believe me, there are gobs of Smallmouth bass in the river up there. I used to go fish out of my inner tube, before there were kayaks and just catch the devil out of those small mouth.

Wow ! What an O.K. adventure. The smallmouth eluded you this trip, but plenty of Kentucky spotted bass. By the end of this video, I was so tired and my shoulders ached. I felt like I was in the boat with you. 😂 After the first whitewater, I knew it was going to be sketchy, so I began to pray for your safe passage . I just recently was able to find a link to order some of the YUM worms you are now famous for !!!!! Went out today for the first use of them, hooked it up wacky style and caught a largemouth in the first 20 minutes ! In my humble opinion, I think YUM lures should re-name the bubble gum swirl color as the JOHN D., CFA color worm !!! Your success with this color has convinced so many of us to try it. Great video, excellent drone footage, and good musical score.......... as usual ! Please always be safe! Randy B.

@Creek Fishing Adventures If you ever get a chance to fish the Erie Canal in New York State, I will tell you that you will have an awesome time catching so so many variety of species of fish. However, I will also warn you of the drastically changing currents from one end to the other and everywhere in between the numerous locks. The Erie Canal is a long and insanely seasonal waterway that has great habitat that too often, succumbs to annual fish genocides and human pollution due to The waterway being levied, sometimes continuously and and empty through winter.

@@CreekFishingAdventures you can catch everything from red darters, creek chubs, gar, and massive goldfish to pike, brown and rainbow trout, and even walleye have been known to be in there. I’ve caught 40 + pound carp and have seen 50+ pounders. I have landed all of those but a brown trout in my 30 years fishing the Erie Canal. Near a town called Holley there is a possibility of landing landlocked salmon as they spawn in a creek that runs underneath the canal. Secrets 🤫 out. It’s not a secret.
