Liked the candy wrapper. Sounded a bit smoother than the rest.

I agree. It has a slightly warmer tone. Thanks for watching.

You might want try what they wrap pop tarts in aluminum style wrap. I done it to couple my kazoos . plastic and aluminum kazoo. It has amazing tone to it.

Pretty cool video. There really wasn't much difference between the sounds of the different papers. So I wonder if it is the size of the body that would produce a less distorted sound. Ideally, resembling a coronet. Perhaps it is the material used for the instrument, metal vs plastic. Or lastly, the size of the diaphragm. I subscribed. 😊

Thanks for checking it out. I've found that all of those things seem to make a difference but this was fun because (as you point out) you could hear all the different membrane materials on one kazoo. I appreciate it.

I love the receipt paper! If folks use it they need to cut a piece with the least amount of ink (too much ink makes it heavier, so it doesn't vibrate as well). Great video!

That makes sense. I had just a small amount of ink on the piece I used. Thanks for checking out the video.

Cool wax paper sounds best but all sounded good

That's the most common reed for sure. Personally, I'm partial to the cigarette paper but yeah... it was a fun experiment. Thanks for checking it out. I'm having a lot of fun with kazoo Fridays.

you are very clever Kale~~ I love the look of your wooden kazoo. I Liked the 1st and last one the best. I think that was the receipt and the wax paper!~ If I did that song all those times on a kazoo I'd have a headache lol

Ha ha. I think I'm partial to the cigarette paper, but the wax paper is the defacto reed material. I guess now we know why. :-)

You're welcome. I think it's a great idea to have a nickel-sized reed like that. BTW, I saw you went to Kazoobie recently. I did too (completely independent of seeing your vid). That's actually going to next Friday's video, so stay tuned.

@@musicalmiscellany Great place! Actually got lucky and landed at Kazoobie the same day Boaz (the museum curator) and Stephen (the owner) were there! Great folks! A lot of fun! Everyone should take a trip down at some point! If you are ever over this way give us a holler. You’re always welcome to come by!
