The switch opener is both useful and barely visible, if it's the *only* thing on this board that's a complete deal-breaker and keeps you from going through with trying the board at all I think that's a you problem, not one of the faults of the keyboard itself

I was so excited about this board when I first saw the interest check and I was going to purchase this as my first custom board. I am now glad that I forgot about this board, the deeper I got into the hobby. I ended up joining the 7V group buy and I much happier with that decision, now that I see how this board turned out.

Just got my E-white GB bella today and the weight, and back protrusion are fixed. It also sounds incredibly good with lubed and filmed lilac switches (JWK linears)

After hearing your comments I'm not sure if I'll regret getting this as my first gb but I guess my id80 will be a good benchmark when it does come in. I do still appreciate the form factor and colour options though, but the bottom protrusion might annoy me a bit from in an ocd way

i was scoping out this board because im looking ionto building a mid (ish) range board and im really glad i found your vid, the criticisms you laid out are pretty concerning to me and definitely shifted my perspective as someone who had only seen pictures of the board up until this point, that being said, i still really like the exploded layout and im dissappointed since it's been difficult to find a good board with it, i am pretty new to the hobby though so theres that.

Should do an end of the year vid on what boards you actually like and sets or something. Don't want to look for the videos would like a single video that have a list. I am very interested on your taste :)

really glad they adjusted the design. i thought it was insane when they released the IC for a board that ripped off someone that they had an extended relationship with

im in the group buy for this board and after this review my opinions arent changed much about the board itself but rather my opinions of kbdfans are changed. i personally really like the look of the layout and the switch opener is quite odd in my opinion but still not a huge bother to me. i am quite disappointed to see how the board has been altered from the renders however and the build quality has been skimped on. a lot of the quality concerns dont affect my opinion on the board too much as most of it is minor that i would not notice on a day to day basis, rather it affects my opinion on kbdfans as a whole. i dont think ill be buying another kbdfans keyboard unless they really step their game up in every sense. i am still looking forward to receiving the board as it checks all the boxes for me and i am in the group that loves hard bottom outs and doesnt really care about the sound as i am always wearing headphones, but still disappointed with kbdfans for their execution of this board.

Restock has case foam between the PCB and mount plate, as well as the PCB and back of the case, this has likely made a huge difference.

I just built mine, first keyboard build... Would you happen to know how to change what the extra keys do and how to add a second layer? I also seemed to have forgotten to put the spacers between the pcb and plate, do you think it matters to have those screwed in? Also, my enter seems quite loud compared to my KBD75. Is it loud for you too? My enter seems quite rattly too... Actually it seems like all my keys are louder, is that what you were referring to in regards to the hollowness? And nice video btw, but you made my feel bad about my keyboard purchase lol. I have been using the original KBD75 for years and was noticing a few of the switches was having issues so decided to get a new board. I am very sad now...

Great vid! I agree with tactile being harsher on harder plates. For example, Moyu is unbearable on brass but is awesome on plateless builds (think of through hole kits).

They also offered a “non-cat” switch opener you could buy separately but it kept the car ears. All the comments were people asking them to make this without the cat or ears, and they didn’t listen. They knew what a lot of people wanted and either ignored them or just refused to make the changes. Such a shame.

it has iso hot swap with all south facing. that’s one thing about this board that is really cool. for those eu iso boys. so i would say the pcb is the most interesting part

Overally great breakdown with detail explanation, but personally I have some disagreemeents. Minus the mentioned flaws in some of the design aspect the overally quality of the board itself is great imo. The E-White was perfect with no flaws, the brass weight has no warp on my unit and isn't the brush finish shown on urs. Also the sound on my board was a lot more damp and less hollow compare to yours (not sure whats up with that). I build it with c3 Tangerine(the OG ver) and c3 stabs lube with 205 and paring it with GMK Taro. In comparison with my Gat Ink Rama-U80 I would say it comes pretty close (well for sure RAMA still gonna sound better and low tone). But with the price that ships with Bella its still a great buy imo especially if u do like the cat design, but i do agreed that the brass weight could have gone with a better and different design since its already been used in a few of KBDfans past keeb. Overally I would still recommend to those who are in 75% to get the Bella, the foam does really help with the overall sound. Especially since there's 2.

I bottom out black inks, it’s just how I type so i always find it interesting hearing people who don’t like or just don’t bottom their switches because i just literally cant haha i bottom them out regardless. But I kind of agree with your take on the plate type, i tend to put polycarb or Fr-4 plates on tactiles and brass or alum on linears but i mix em up all the time too. So far poly is my favorite as I like the sound it produces but for hotswap it can be awful as the keys can easily pop off the plate

I was willing to overlook a lot from kbdfans but ever since they stopped giving us the option to ship from a eu warehouse making all their boards 32% more expensive I stopped shopping there. I see no reason to add an additional $70 on or more on standard order every time so for me it’s a no go.. I did want to buy their TKL board bad the added customs was so high it stopped me..

If you’re a programmer working at home, I highly doubt your desk while working is “minimalistic”.

This video of the GB bellas just went up, its an e-white board kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r7yelLeUttnMgJ8.html I noticed the weight seems to have a different finish and also fits alot better. Maybe the GB took so long because they were doing some small revisions?

I don't unsertand why KBDFANS does that whole "ships 20-30 days after you pay for it" thing. like WHY? I thought others that got the Maja were the ones w that experience. I was lucky enough to "snag" a Project Vulcan x KBDFANS Maja Ergo on Black Friday and after waiting 10 days for the shipping notification, for whatever reason, i contacted customer support & they said my ship date was between December 5th & the 20th :( Why tease me like that.

I find your sound test very strange. It doesn't even sound like the Bella... You show a lot of video snippets throughout the rest of the video, but when it comes to the sound test there's no video proof (why?). All other sound tests I see on KZfaq do not sound hallow AT ALL and sound like a premium board. Your sound test honestly sounds like a completely different keyboard. That part of the review seems sketch to me.. Why don't you have video of you typing on the keyboard there? I don't think I've ever seen a sound test without video of typing on the product in action. I hate to be the guy calling you out on this, but comparing other sound tests to yours (and yours with lack of video evidence) honestly seems like you're trying to bash on the Bella further than needed... Everything else was very well put together, but something is very wrong/off on the sound test part for reasons stated above.
