My 104 key v2 had screws hidden under the adjustable feet. Mine died after 9 years, totally unresponsive...

Can you please make a video comparing with a POM plate? I want to join the new Mode Sonnet preorder next week but unsure if I want to go aluminum top with polycarb bottom or go full full aluminum. I want a deep and marbly sound but I also don't want it to sound too hollow.

Since it seems to reuse Logitech IC, my guess is that is a feature not provided by Logitech. I have a Logitech wireless membrane keyboard and mice. Neither have wired as fallback.

5:43 interesting, i switch between Mac and Windows (i WFH and my work computer is a mac) but I keep my keyboard layout as is on both. I use the Mac/Unix layout with GUI/Cmd/Win to immediately next to Space, then Alt/Option then Ctrl. I say interesting because looking around at keyboards and some that are marketed for compatibility to both even have switches that let you swap between Space-Gui-Alt and Space-Alt-GUI...doesn't that mess with your muscle memory having to swap the keys like that?

I feel like for the amount of money you've spent on HHKB keyboards you are an official fan, but like, in a mid way. Like the Dilbert of fans.

people actually destryo their keyboards be having a light electrical discharge?

Good old reliable. This is why businesses around the world have been using Topre since the 80's, if you need a keyboard that works flawlessly 100% of the time there is no substitute.
@budthecyborg45756 ай бұрын
If you're not programming the Del key here is perfection. The presence of Capslock is the only real problem with this keyboard, by default it should be an Fn key.

I love Topre but wish the return speed was quicker. Anyone have recommendations that preserve the OEM Topre 45g feel but has a snappier return? Thanks

VVHAT? NO Cursor Keys? How is that supposed to work? Did Steve Jobs have to approve this? I know, in the OLD days we had WordStar Ctrl-E/S/D/X for cursor movement out of the home row, but nowadays on a IBM Model M keyboard, that feel ARKANE. It IS TWO keypresses, just for 1 line up. That might have been good on an Apple II keyboard, but NOT on an IBM Model M.

I have nicer keyboards that I can type faster with but keep finding myself doing the same and daily driving a modded and lubed HHKB Hybrid.

In the future this man uses hhkb as his daily.

I think the HHKB wins out over time. Initially, people will hate on it. But the more they use it in their rotation, and potentially mod it, the more it silently becomes their most used board.
@lawbinson7 ай бұрын
I actually really like it after modding it. Its a softer bottom out than my M60A and a good mobile option. The acoustics are also good.
@lawbinson7 ай бұрын
It says a lot that the HHKB Hybrid (Non Type-S) is the one board I would keep if I had to liquidate all of my custom mechs. Once lubed and silenced, I added a set of hi-pro keycaps to them. Being a non type-S, the silencing on the shorter stem is amazing. It brings the tactility up even higher and makes it nearly a linear with a great bottom out feeling. It sounds great, it works on all my devices, it’s easy to transport, it’s a great format that keeps my hands in place for the most part. And, the wireless connectivity is also fantastic and reliable. I can take it into the office (as you mentioned) and people are not only unbothered, but I’ve also converted a few others to the same board.
@lawbinson7 ай бұрын
Upstroke silencing rings on a non-TypeS I find turns it into almost a Linear, which I LOVE. I actually think the Type-S that I have is much worse than the non-typeS that I silenced.
@abdomination7 ай бұрын
their spacebars have always been their weakest link.. I think if they used costar it wouldn't be a problem.. I just use a few o-rings on my leopold space bar and it usually negates the issues.

Why custom keyboards are unreliable? I make my very cheap ass custom 1.5 years ago, with one of outemu silent switches, XDA keycap profile... And it's still fine. Never disappointed or lagged also typing is pleasure and like 5 times more silent that regular (not mechanical) keyboard. I lubed it twice from that time btw.

the next silent switch you should try are the Lichicx silent switches. it has three types: a linear, a tactile with a small bump and one with a big bump. Ive had it on my keyboard for a while and I love it. I hate mushy silent switches as well and out of all the silent switches I tried these are the least mushy.
