Dr. Little gave a Master Class on how to handle a #1 song especially by Badu. JSU was ready for it. ASU's second song was really good even with the error and their Badu songs, I always look forward to hearing. JSU is AWESOME. TxSU is coming to town, be ready.

I was looking forward to you judging this 5th. I am a Alum of Alabama State University and I was proud of the better showing than last years 5th. I loved the Dragon Ball Super song when Goku was going Ultra Instinct! You are right, they clean it up that song is a killer. Only band playing that one so they can own it with more practice.

I’m very, very newly into this, so I’m very objective about who’s got what. I was liking ASU’s arrangements. I found myself bopping along to the tunes… but definitely hear a fuller bodied sound in JSU. Even when the sounds weren’t so clear, they tended to even out quickly. It was also a bit more layered from JSU, imo. Where ASU felt more face value, if that makes sense. Like their tunes didn’t always go as deep. I think they both brought the energy, though!

FYI....I highly suggest you all check out LifewithNates and Steven Holidays review of this battle. I agree much more with their assessments in this regard and in contrast to KBs assessment of the battle. No shade to KB but the other reviews are COMPLETELY different in their reviews of this battle🤷🏾‍♂️

Bama State mistake was they play all new music on everything but the last one. You can't face JSU with all new song and not comfortable nor confident with them. It show they were not ready to play these song yet.

This wasn't the only review video devs. LifewithNate had both bands equal. This is just one reviewer obviously surrounded by BOOM fans. JSU got away with alot but hey....to each its own. LifewithNates video points out issues with both bands. I love my boy but it just seems like all of JSUs flaws were skipped because of the shock and awe of JSU...

See ASU fans using the same thing Southern fans said by saying to use a different media team’s video but I’ve listened to every one and JSU won every battle in those videos. Just take the L and keep it pushing

I actually like the direction Alabama State is headed. They just need a better game plan when A or B isn't working that's all. Play songs that their comfortable with and execute. I'm a fan of ASU and I'm looking forward to their growth.
