Glad you wrote that second comment because I also stopped the video 10 secs before Odo's comment xD I would watch a LoL "second international competition". We used to have the wildcard tournament, now we have the play-ins. I think if a spot in the main tournament was the reward, it would also not diminish the value of the competition

fearless draft should "in theory" give games more of a soloque feel. less standard drafts, more excitement in counter picks, and overall a better "Dylan, we go vayne!" incentive.

I don't quite understand the introductory segment where they talk about what's to come in the episode. It's a waste of time. You have that short clip from the episode first that already previews some fun part of the episode. Get into the episode after that.

According to many of the podcasters I watch, having a "roadmap" at the start of the podcast increases viewers/listeners and the time they spend on the podcast by a significant amount. It's just smart podcasting to do it.

Personally, I kinda like having the intro segment. I like having a clear idea of what is going to be covered in the podcast beyond just the preview snippet at the start. And while, yes, the chapters feature on KZfaq can do the same thing, I just personally like the 30-second intro format.

I‘m not sure if someone thought of this before, but why not do an open international tournament for the last worlds spot open to all the teams that didn‘t secure one before. In this we could see all the lower teams compete against lower teams of all regions

Donkey's years isn't irish specific, but it has to be together. You can't use just donkeys to mean "many". Although I think we should.

I would unironically love a tournament of just 4th-8th from each region. Would also help by exposing smaller teams to international play.

I think a lot of people also feel like this but i wanna point it out again. Many champs in league are really strong but are too hard countered by the meta. You cannot pick certain champs cause K'sante is open for example. Not just that but also certain champs like Lux Syndra straight up get outvalued in the stuff theyll do by champs like Hwei. I would still say Syndra is really strong ATM it may also just be that pros dont feel like shes strong or havent tried her. So fearless gives us more variety and maybe a meta shift cause all of the sudden we play champs and they feel gumba broken

The problem with that is that the number of teams has to be a power of 2 in order to have a working bracket/knockout structure. That's the whole reason they kick out 9th and 10th before transitioning to a bracket format.

@@Brookler If you want a full working bracket stage, your team count has to be a power of 2, because each elimination round cuts the number of teams in half. If you start with 10 teams, you'll have 5 teams in the upper bracket and 5 teams in the lower bracket (if it's double elim) after the first round, which is really awkward to divide into further matches. So either you need to cut two teams out beforehand (which is what current regular season is doing) or you'll have to coin toss free passes to somehow maintain a somewhat decent bracket structure, which is just nonsense at that point.

The aneouncement was that they would experiment with the format of the third tournament. Somehow that has become a guarantied fearless format in this video. Guess they have some sort of inside information.

What i hope for in new tournament with 5 teams: - Full Fearles - one group of 5 teams - either one round robib BO3 or double round robin BO1 - one teams gets eliminated and we have 4 team double elimination bracket should be fairly short and full of emotions tournament

I have a theory that G2 has been purposefully playing the early game poorly/riskily so that they can get more practice playing from behind. If they gave the early game their all, then they would never get a challenge to improve with.

@@giomarimp1196 It would be a good EUROPA LEAGUE type of format. And I bet top ERL teams can be competitive against 4 to 6 teams most of the years. In some playoffs interviews the last few years top teams from LEC have said they have been scriming regularly with spanish/french/turquish best ERL teams and that they can go head to head against them.

Disagree with Odo no one is figuring out fearless mathematically. For one his assuming players can play every champ at an equal level which they very much can’t.

The problem with full Fearless draft is that it could very easily devolve into teams willingly throw game 1 to pick, for example, 5 mid lane champs, just to screw with the other mid laner for the rest of the series

They can just play champs their mid laner doesn't play. It's not really that insane to think about. Your mid doesn't play Corki Asol Azir? Just pick them in game 1, and you basically get 3 bans for the rest of the series

Idk how to say this nicely, but Odoamne is worrying about how middle of the pack teams or bad teams can be motivated if only the top 2 go to internationals when you can’t even win your local region unless you’re the top 1, so… I don’t get the point at all. If your team DOESNT BELIEVE THEY CAN WIN THEIR REGION… then they shouldn’t be in the league. Plain and simple. Your league will never grow in skill level and be what everyone wants it to be, unless we do away with this loser mentality. We don’t want to watch a tournament with 30 teams total, just to be nice and let in all the 4th places teams from each region… 😂 the entire concept is the battle of the best in the world. Not the matchup of the mediocre. Let that stay regional.

What about getting 5 teams from every region, making groups with 1 team from each region and the winner is the region itself, not the team. Prize.pool split to all teams in a region and also get one extra spot at worlds for the region

Worlds 2025 is probably gonna be like this since there are 5 major, maybe lpl and lck will get 1 more team and the other will get 4, but it’s probably gonna happen something like that
