KC and the Sunshine Band is an American disco and funk band, founded in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida.Their best-known songs include the hits "That's the Way (I Like It)", "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "I'm Your Boogie Man", "Keep It Comin' Love", "Get Down Tonight", "Boogie Shoes", "Please Don't Go" and "Give It Up". The band took its name from lead vocalist Harry Wayne Casey's last name ('KC') and the 'Sunshine Band' from KC's home state of Florida, the Sunshine State. The group had six top 10 singles, five number one singles and two number two singles on the Billboard 100 Chart.

For me, it's the time period that floods with memories. An easier, care free, laid back period in humanity. People were kinder to one another, less stress. Then again, there was no internet to contend with.

It brings back memories for me too. I now know what it means to look back at most of a life time now. This is an understanding you cannot give to the 16 year old that heard this without question or pre-condition all those years ago. And then we end.

Still remember the girl I once loved when I heard this song. We eventually broke up and God was so good to me. Several years later I met and married my really big love. Still married after 36 years, 6 children and 7 grandchildren. And most importantly, still crazy in love with her.

The absolute best song from KC . I was watching a tribute version of this song on KZfaq with old photos of the San Fernando Valley Inyo’s and , Man, it is a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Miss the 70’s and 80’s ,and am almost 60 now, but I remember these times clearly, and this song very fondly. Thanks KC, you were the Best.

I was 10 years old when this song came out. My mom loved this band. She would play this record over and over. I would be singing my heart out to this song. Such a beautiful and funky song. The bass and piano are carrying this song so beautifully. KC's vocals are gorgeous too!

Sad songs are good for us every so often. This one remands me of holding my love and asking her to stay a little while longer during her 2nd bout of cancer. Then there was the 3rd and she was gone. If you don't let it out every so often, it will eat you up. My strength is my weakness. I have to remember to be weak in oder to stay strong!
