Seeing her in this show was God's gift. Then seeing her move into main screens was a bigger gift. It was such an honor meeting her after the show. She's a genuine legend. Love u Keala!!!

You can hear her rasp in this video. She's said that Hairspray was rough on her voice, touring life, etc.

It was mid voice which is tough for a singer who shines brighter in her mix/upper register. She is amazing in any capacity.

Is Andrew Rannells in this? 3:09, ensemble member on the leftmost side of the screen. I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me but I believe he's also done some regional performances of Hairspray in 2005 (He mentioned playing Fender, who wears glasses!)
