When Hugh Jackman cries, we all cry. No shame in that. I also squee happily every time I see Cynthia Erivo in this. Adore her.

I've seen that video like 30 times already and it still makes me tear up.

Nope.. Still not able to get through this without my eyes getting wet. Powerful moment indeed. I need to see this movie.

It's such a simple, simple song (I'm not surprised it didn't win) but sung with such power from Keala and enthusiasm from the chorus singers that it is incredibly uplifting. People from all walks of life see themselves in the lyrics. I think it's fabulous.

She seems very genuine, and real. Rare in an artist nowadays! I hope she continues to sing such powerful songs. We need singers like her to have a presence! 😁

The first time I listened to this was in my car driving to work at 4am. I was so overwhelmed I had to pull over before crashing my car into something for not being able to see through the tears. Totally unexpected reaction.

This is a song that so many people can identify with, in so many different ways. Maybe you had a time when you felt that the world was against you. If you have never felt that, I envy you. But, if you have, this song and performance must bring tears to your eyes,. I've never seen so much musical energy in a room. Emotionally, it's even better than the scene in the movie. To have been there would have been an indescribable gift.

i watch this video all the time, i cry every time. the power in this room is off the charts - my understanding is a studio head went up to her after and said "i don't know who you are but you have just booked your first movie" they were also greenlit, not sure if it was after this by Keala or when Hugh Jackman sang. both are such powerful emotional performances - Thank you for sharing your reaction with us, it is the same as mine everytime I watch this.

To me it feels like her personal little liberation.
