Honestly, I couldn't think of a better actor who is deserving of this success. He is so well-loved yet remained so humble. He is just breathtaking.

Definetely not a prequel since the movie needs Keanu. And also the ending of 4 was very VERY obvious that he wasnt dead considering his dog looking somewhere else and not on the grave.

I’m a strong believer in the notion that if we didn’t see a body, then a character isn’t dead. They set it up this way so they could end it if they wanted to but also return if there was enough demand. Seeing how every John Wick film has been a success over the last I’d say it’s a safe bet to assume that there will be a 5th installment and possibly more down the line.

He is not dead, he was shot at the exact spots he shot the doctor in John Wick 3.

The john wick sequels don't feel like separate movies ..... it feels like one long continuing story... i think thats what makes this movie a lot better then most sequels.

I think he's alive. John Wick had to die so he could become, simply, John. It'd make sense though for there to be another tie to someone that could bring him back and this time he teams up with Donnie Yen and the guy with the dog to take down the table. That'd be awesome.

I feel John wick is still alive, the only true way next to death to keep him safe is to pretend to be dead. The king and Winston could’ve arranged it and it would’ve made their communication “where do you think he is? Heaven or hell?” “Who knows” followed by laughter make more sense since they know he’s still alive but others believe he is dead

The rule is that if you didn't see him die, he's not dead. It ended at him collapsing, but never showed the dead body

dont forget that in chapter 1 wick appeared to be dying.....and he did not die. there was TONS of clues in part 4 that lead me to look forward to chapter 5.

Even seeing JW4 the first time, I saw that the references to him dying were all through it. From the desert scene where he is told that he will only know peace in death, to getting dealt aces and eights as a poker hand, the writing was all over the wall. I also thought that even assuming he could gain his freedom, the best way to be safe afterward would be for everyone to Believe that he was dead, and thus finally finding peace. Winston and the King could easily have arranged such a thing, and there is a telling lack of a mound of disturbed earth from a recent burial in the closing scene at the grave markers.

It was interesting where Winston and the Bowery King was talking facing Wick's grave... someone said, "Do you think he is in Heaven or Hell?" Then both of them chuckled... so that opens up that Winston did bring John home and is healing. Till John Wick 5. I think there is more than a good percentage that John will return, not as a prequel or whatever but in full scale. After all he only got two bullets in him and he's been far more broken than he was at the end of JW4.

Mr Wick is alive and well, the tomb is just a front 😏

They should make part 5 about his origin and include his childhood

Honestly, I wouldn't be sad if this was the end. It was a perfect ending to his story. Also, RIP Lance Reddick. He was also such a strong character in this franchise that made it what it was and i think John's character, dying in the same film is respectful. As far as Keanu Reeves goes I think we're all ready for Constantine 2.

I'm definitely up for a prequel or two as long as Keanu is in it. I'm sure they have the technology to make him look younger. 😁

I think its possible Winston was John's father or father in law because of what he said at the grave. "Farewell my Son." He always protected John even when he was declared Excommunicado. I think he is protecting him now by giving him the out he wanted.

Everybody forget that John said he will kill all current table. Since they are the one responsible for bringing him back.

The dog’s reaction at the end tells you that he is definitely not dead 🐶

They could literally just say that winston and king faked his death so the table wouldn’t look for him. Just because he’s “free” doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be out for revenge. I think it would be cool if his coffin actually had a bunch of assassin stuff in it like under the garage in the first one. It would be a great way to reference him in a later film without actually needing Keanu.

If John wick 5 were to come out I would want it to be a prequel where John was in his prime, and the ending him meeting his wife

John Wick 4 does seem like it could be the impossible task to get out as start in the beginning. The death and grave scene could be the revelation of that reference before. They did it with the pencil reference so it does actually fit the story format and the overall filming formats. Even the ending quotes fit perfectly. "Those who cling to death, lives". " Those who cling to life, die". They could use a storyline around the pin Nobody gave his and the power vacuum with all the high rank deaths in chapter 4. Maybe have a the manager reveal a hidden plot twist that he used John to be promoted into the High Table. He does seem to give off a highly intelligent calulated trickster vibe to me. That is just a thought I came up with after watching the movie and seeing how it ended. I'm curious what you other people think of my plot idea for a chapter 5🤔? No prequel though! I always really hate those types of movies

I believe the grave yard scene was in the future. It was his actual death, but not directly after the final action scenes in the film. He lives another few years

There needs to be a continuation of John wick but it also needs a prequel. Like it needs to show everything that led to his impossible task and the task itself

They could do prequels or if they bring him back, they should do crossovers. Imagine if Tom Cruise’s Jack reacher met The accountant (Affleck), then a fifth Wick movie where John crosses paths with The equalizer. John could have history with knowing Jack in the past. All four of them could work together against some threat. Then in the end, the equalizer and the accountant hit it off real well and become good partners, where they start working together as vigilantes in a sense. Jack and John’s friendship is strengthened, they start occasionally hanging out. This crossover would be nice because while some are way better fighters than others it isn’t outlandish or cheesy and they could all exist in the same universe.

The ending of John wick 4 should of been. A slow cut back after the grave to see John standing there. And you think he is still alive. And then you hear his wife say, “John let’s go, you can relax now.” As he looks to see his wife and his dog standing there. And he walks towards them.

Lemme tell you how it will go. Lionsgate is probably preparing for a Young version of JW and make a totally different storyline on how John Wick became Baba Yaga. This could be awesome to watch but also heartbreaking not to have Keanu anymore in the role😢😢😢😢 Hoping they will do justice to the role❤❤❤

Loving John Wick to the max has been my favorite journey in movies. I predicted after JW3 that at some point, an ending to John's journey would close out. Keanu created this amazing man, sorrowed, lost, and looking for peace. As much as I would love to see JW again, my problem is what will he fight for next time? We know JW had no direction when Helen died. I personally believe JW must rest in peace. If not, then his whole journey 1-4 is pointless. Keanu is smart enough to understand that his integrity of making movies should always come first. I'm looking forward to what comes next for Keanu since he is finally getting the well-earned recognition he deserves. As the saying goes, "Let sleeping dogs lie." See you at the movies Mr. Wick 😅

Re the ending and the dog looking away...when I watched the film when it came out & that last scene with the headstones.... I did notice something that was extra & served no real purpose if JW4 was the last one. Watch the last scene & there's an egg in there. You get to spot a tattoo on the forearm of Winston. It's a tattoo of the Russian Mob featured in the film. There was never any reference on Winston's past apart from him being hotel manager for a very long time. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but I think Winston called him son. There's likely a door they've left there, whether its used and there's a JW5 or not, I dunno. James Bond is James Bond & not sure spin offs with other characters is huge thing beyond a netflix series. But who knows, my guess is as good or bad as anyone - Time'll tell and I bet they will run a great PR campaign as it gets closer if it happens. Not sure how they'd do all that training without tipping people off Whatever will be...

Just a minor observation, Caine had pretty much the same wounds John Wick had and he survived, so I think it's possible John would have also survived. Could be that he merely passed out and the guy with the dog saved his life because he saved the dog's life.

They left the story line wide open. You don't see a funeral. Injuries are not life threatening. He was exhausted from everything.

He is not dead. He only asked Winston to prepare his grave and write his name to disappear from the Coninental life completely.

How about: An old and quiet rule of the duel is that “you keep what you kill”. John Wick is dead, the Maquis de Gramond is now Johnathon Wick’s new title and identity. And so his seat on The High Table has been won by being the most blessed of that battle. John Wick 5 could begin there - and now he has to fight off those with a vendetta against him “for a year and a day” until his status is confirmed by simply surviving “The Period of Verification”. If Johnathon is taken down during that time by another with a valid claim by blood or association to the previous title holder it goes back to them.... as winning the duel and “stealing their rightful status” has angered the prior holders heirs, family and friends. And they’re coming after him personally - no henchmen, only boss level characters with consummate: weird weaponry, training, tactics, tools, style, skills and strategy..... Oh yeah..... that would rock the casbah.....

John and Caine were shot almost the same. But Caine went on his own and John suddenly dies while he survived even worse things. Besides Winston said to Is he in the Heaven or Hell? : "Who knows".

Ok, but what would be the motivation for moving forward even if he is still alive? The high table gave him his freedom and they gave Winston his hotel back. I don’t think a prequel with John Wick is needed. Plus, they’re coming out with ‘The Continental’ which will be like a prequel that sets up all of this.

I'm torn - I LOVE how the 'Legend' of John Wick ended in chapter 4. As a quadrilogy, it's an EPIC story. But I still want more XD And I don't wanna lose Winston, as I'm sure he wouldn't be in any more if John Wick is trying to not return to the spotlight.
