@@Hockeyhobo89 The Leafs dominated that OT though. If Dermott doesn't make the dumbest play of his career (or Galchenyuk the previous game), the Leafs advance to the second round. Hard to blame Keefe when the players make horrendous decisions with the puck.

Oh god I really need to see the locker room after this game and into the next. Not one second in game 7 did they look like they were going to win. I don't even know what Keefe could have said after this speech to get them going. Just an inevitable loss we all knew was coming.

No accountability in the locker room. No real leader or leaders. That's the difference between teams like Boston, Tampa, Pittsburg, Chicago, LA, Jersey, Colorado, and Detroit. These teams all won two or more cups in short succession because they had a guy or guys that push the team to work heard and leave it all out on the ice. These guys also lead by example. Toronto has Spezza and Taveras. The two most hardest working guys on the ice during playoffs. When your elite phenoms the likes of Marner and Matthews constantly lacking the drive and will to take the next necessary step during the playoffs. Here we are repeating the same song and dance. Sadly in the last 5 years of futility, Marner leads all leafs in playoff points during this time span.

As someone who’s played pro sport watching the rest of this series it was easy to see Keefe was good one-on-one with players like the ‘vanilla’ comment to eves but the one thing he always seemed to come up short on was the flamethrower speech inspiring the team to get on the ice and end someone. Every previous locker room scene was keefe fading off at the end and it became clear this helped create the Leaf’s MIA at the start of every game and period. That was until this one. They still lost this game but at least Keefe finally did what was needed in that moment.
