Regarding the lottery, there are 14 numbers and 4 numbers are drawn. They had to do it 4 times, since SJ won the first 3. If you want conspiracies, the number 11 was drawn all 4 times. They could have given SJ the most combinations with number 11 if they weighted the balls differently knowing 11 would show up on most draws. JS.

I don't see much value in getting rid of Shanahan. I think the failures of this team have been largely unrelated to his decision making. I think his only shortfall was not firing Keefe last season, but maybe Treliving wanted to give him a shot/didn't have the time to bring someone else in. I know it's a little delusional but I really think this team is a coach and some cap space (cough Mitch marner cough) away from being a legitimate playoff team.
