Nice to see / hear Blue again. A few months ago, unusually, I put TPS on the smart TV and my wife and daughter stayed in the room. Early in the show my daughter commented on how nice blue was. My wife agreed. Never one to miss an opportunity I showed them a relic sonic blue custom shop strat in Andertons based on Danish Petes 64/65 Strat that the Captain now has. They loved it, I got permission to buy it! So I have a few nice electric guitars, including a Silver Sky and a 2007 Custom Shop Tele but I’ve never owned an electric guitar that I connected with more than I do with my acoustics. So I don’t know what it is but when I first played my ‘blue’ I immediately connected, I can’t put it down and have been more inspired to play guitar than any other time in my 40 years of playing. If a guitar ever had mojo this one does. So thanks to Mick n blue.

The Vemuram Shanks ODS-1 is a crazy expensive overdrive, but I have to say you are right on with this one. Once I got it all other overdrives are instantly sub-par. It also works incredibly well with all my various amps. It is worth every penny and then some. Best overdrive I have ever come across.

I've seen a couple of Eccos demos, but this is the first one that made me understand what it actually does and why it's special and how you get hot sounds out of it.

Wow!!! That shanks is the best OD for my rig bar none...ordered one straight away and can confirm it's the d.b's!!!! Worth it as it's the sound I've been searching for for yonks!!! That micro vent could be the answer to my leslie speaker woes as well. Great show as always guys...inspired playing and tones from the two sweetest guys on KZfaq!!!

I don’t know if this is the first time y’all did a bass test for a pedal but I appreciate the hell out of it. I play both guitar and bass through the same rig and I use the same pedals for both (~20). Maybe we could have a bass dedicated show one of these days? I love my Electro Harmonix Russian Big Muff pi but I love exploring more tones with pedals I DONT HAVE. Love the stuff guys! Cheers!

The Spectrum is the best sounding filter pedal ever, so many possibilites. The Shanks is great but expensive. really digging the new Vent with the fender sound, the slow speed is really like the stevie sound.

This is a great pedal. I bought one and almost sold my Kingsley Minstrel. It actually works fantastically well with humbuckers unlike soooo many overdrives I have owned. Really great pedal. Loved it wayyy more than the jan ray for humbuckers.

John Shanks is a FASCINATING dude! In addition to being a brilliant producer, songwriter and guitarist, he is also a deeply-knowledgable gear head. Also, he owns the late, great James Honeyman-Scott's Zemaitis. He would be an impossibly great guest.

Ods - 1 is the best od sound you have featured- just received mine - off the back of this episode. Not disappointed- incredible. It is pricey- but people spend similar on delays/mods. It’s worth it if it is much more satisfying to play..

I believe the common delay chip you're thinking of the is the PT2399, which if my memory is right was originally designed for karaoke machine but gets used all the time in "analog/tape voiced" digital delays (believe the diamond memory lane Jr, the mad professor deep blue that Matt Schofield uses, etc.). Pretty sure the Keeley Mag Echo is PT2399

The filtering in the Eccos repeats reminds me of the great eq section on the Memory Lane 2 by Diamond. Both sound killer!!!

Finished watching and I wish I could give it more than 1 like. Great lineup of pedals; all sound amazing. If I were a guitar player I’d have to get that drive pedal! Good job playing the bass Mick; I know it’s not your thing but it gives us a decent view of what to expect. Now just have to save my ¥ for the Spectrum…

I began exploring with the EHX Mod 11 and it made me realize I needed a genuine rotary simulator and a good envelop filter. And now, the Micro Vent 122 and the Spectrum are on my board... Really great pedals!

Just coming back to this. Geez it's hard to decide which version of the Vents I like! Also. Don't forget to do a Nobels OD style shoot out. It's one classic OD you've never really covered. The Shanks ODS1 is of course based on an ODR1.

An exceptionally strong collection of pedals in this episode. Some very nice bass playing there Mick, that pedal is superb. I’d love to hear Keeley’s pedal next to your proper tape machine, it sounded very ‘real’ to my ears

PEDAL JAMS!!... a reason to spring outve bed another morning this week! And yupppp seems you guys have had as much fun as I thought with the Spectrum! I wonder if it’s similar to the C4 synth in that you can hook up a midi controller for up to 128 banks? I got the disaster area micro hooked up to mine and though sometimes locking up while scrolling (requiring a restart) it’s a rabbit hole device that gets me lost in dem weird sounds!

Source Audio pedals are amazing! I recently got the Collider Reverb+Delay pedal! And wow... I'd say the quality is definitely on par with stuff like Strymon.
