Keeley: HALO Andy Timmons Dual Echo

I kid you not, I reckon the Halo is so good it will knock more than a few tried and true 'benchmark' delays off pedalboards the world over in pretty short shrift. That Andy Timmons has given this masterpiece the thumbs up already says a lot but if it makes any difference, I'll go so far as to say this is the best delay release from any manufacturer for a long, long time and I'll bet you'll be wanting one! Start with Andy's signature tone - modulated dual delays at ¼ and dotted ⅛ respectively. That's all he really wanted but he got more because engineers are ...engineers. So we get eight presets. It's stereo in and out. True or trails bypass. There are high pass filters and saturation controls (I'll show Saturation in my next HALO vid) as well as BBD, Tape Machine and HALO delay types. Tap tempo is there. Infinite Hold (which I call 'freeze' in the video. Remote switching and expression pedal control are available if you want to use them. And the sound is AMAZinG! I mean better than I've heard from any delay for ages. Get one. You won't be sorry.

I LOVE that Andy Timmons thought to ask for a Tom Scholz-style preset. That is SO COOL! Those of us "of a certain age" grew up with that classic delay sound in our ears, and it's still so great today. Total respect to Timmons, Keeley and the development team for paying homage to a great.

“Don’t look back” on s one of my favorite classic rock songs, that riff in the chorus is just brilliant! If this halo can also help nail that sound (besides all the other great sounds) I’m sold!!

Hi Brett. I've watched quite a few videos about the Halo - (which I bought and love) - including both of your videos, and I can safely say that your videos are by far the most useful and informative. Once in a while an incredible product comes along….I found 2 today (1) Field Marshall Fuzz and (2) Halo. This is an excellent product demo and the halo is amazing sounding with all the features we want in a 1 pedal size.

Holy Cr*p! I currently own 7 delay pedal types and have owned probably a dozen more. The Halo would be better than any of them for my stereo setup of two Bruno Underground 30s. I found my Dazatronyx Stereo Panning Optical Tremolo, (original gray version), at your website and it's been on my stereo pedal board since the day it arrived a few years ago. True stereo effects that work great and don't sound fake or processed are hard to find. You've steered me to another stereo must have. Thank You!

This is an epic win for Keeley and a boon for delay enthusiasts around the world. Been chasing the Timmons "halo sound" delay for ages. The MXR Echoplex pedal can kinda do it, but this Keeley sounds better.

I've been wanting this pedal for the last ten years. The Diamond Counter Point Delay is very close, and has been part of my live rig for about 5 years I guess. The Halo is (for me) delay perfection. It's exactly what I want in a delay pedal.

All of them, pretty much. If I was to strap a traditional pedalboard together again (I run Fractal on stage so no need at the moment) it would be this delay. It's a Keeley masterpiece.

Sure. That's not hard - the modulated dotted 8th and quarter notes. It's the preamp bit that will require some work.

Looking at how I use my Timeline, this pedal could easily replace it. EVen though I have a Timeline which does A LOT, I find that I don't use most of its features, I usually stick to some kind of tape or bucket brigade delay, sometimes a dual delay. The Halo has presets that are all extremely useable right out of the gate, which is something I cannot say about the Timeline. WHen you scroll through the sounds on a Timeline, you would (almost) never use the preset as is. You always have to tweak it. The presets on the Halo are all inspiring and useable as soon as you select them. The only thing I "worry" about is that I don't have a stereo rig so I wouldn't be getting the full beauty of these sounds. But the same goes for the Timeline too I think. Is is what it is I guess. I would absolutely buy the Halo and I think I might sell the Timeline.

What can we do with the foot switch input?

There is both an Expression pedal input and a TRS connection for the A & B switches. So you have a tremendous amount of things you can do with the foot switch inputs, you can control all of the pots and the footswitches, tap tempo, switch preset banks, infinite hold, etc, etc.

ADVANCING PRESETS ON THE FLY Advance through Preset Banks by holding both stomp switches for 1/3 of a second (or simply use the mini toggle switch). TO TOGGLE BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN PRESETS 1. Tap the FDBK knob to enter ‘Preset Mode’ 2. Cursor left or right through Preset Banks 1-4 by then tapping either the A or B Side stomp switch. 3. Once you have landed on the Preset Bank you’ve decided on, press both stomp switches again (or tap the FDBK knob) to change to the desired Preset Bank. SAVING PRESETS 1. Once desired changes are made, tap the FDBK knob to enter ‘Preset Mode’. 2. Use the A and B stomp switches to cursor both forward and backward through Preset Banks 1-4. 3. Once the desired Preset Bank is selected, hold either the A or B stomp switch to save your settings. Note: You can also use the mini toggle to advance through Preset Banks 1-4.
