That would be a HUGE accomplishment for Freedmen. I don't think Oregon ever had one. We had about two of them here in central Arizona.

What happened was Black American males (and any immigrant Black males who had no business being there) were fighting for interracial marriage and familial whitewashing instead of focusing on protecting Freedmen's institutions. They were too busy wasting their money on booze, drugs and impressing women who are not Black and the other women who were not American.

I would love to help you guys rebuild it but you would have to agree to never integrate your staff. If you care about diversity instead of heritage preservation then I'm not helping rebuild Knott Street Community Center.

Gentrification happens whenever the poor (regardless of race) fail to prepare. They fail to work hard in school to earn a proper education so that they will know what they’re doing and will qualify for higher paying jobs. They fail to work hard in the work force to earn the raises and promotions. They fail to save their money so that they can own their homes. They fail to obey the law and so they have criminal records. They fail to take care of their homes. They fail to stand up to the criminals in the neighborhood and stop what they’re doing. They fail to vote for their neighborhood by voting for the same idiot Democrats over and over. Failing to plan means that you’re planning to fail. If your neighborhood looks like garbage because you failed to take care of it, the property values will be in the tank. People that work harder and smarter than you will see an opportunity to improve their lives. They will buy an abused and neglected home, fix it up, and move in. Or they will buy it, fix it up, and sell it to someone else that will take care of it. If you fail to take care of business, someone else will. If gentrification happens to your neighborhood, you can either lift yourself up or you will find yourself unable to afford to live in the neighborhood. I grew up 2 blocks away from Jefferson High School in North Portland. It was a pit in the 70’s through 00’s. It has since gentrified and it’s a nice neighborhood. It’s a safe neighborhood. I now patrol those streets after I retired from the USMC.

Alabama has it's white supremacy, but Oregon was founded as a white separatist state and because of that Oregonians aren't as familiar with Black people which is different in the south. Dawson Park is located in North Portland and for many years was located in one of the worst neighborhoods in Portland. It was surrounded by drugs, robberies, assaults, burglaries, rapes, murders, needles, and garbage. It was not a safe neighborhood during the day and it was even worse at night. The neighborhood has been cleaned up. Almost all of the criminals are either in prison, moved away, or they’re dead. The park has been saved. It’s now a very popular park to have fun in. Source: I’ve lived in Portland all my life. 25+ years of law enforcement experience. The other parks have been cleaned up as well, such as Columbia, Peninsula, Woodlawn, Cathedral, and others.

I would like for you to try to say that to the racist Portland cops that beat me up when I was 15 years old walking home from work. And I would also like you to say that to the people who destroyed the "York" statue that was put up on top of Mt. Tabor.

The racist ownership dynamic is evident. No such thing. The state laws never gave us that chance.
