Not only does this dropshot knot keep your hook facing up, but is super strong and durable while fighting fish. You can use this for many styles of vertical presentations, but a dropshot is the best way to go with it. Hope you all enjoy the tutorials and we'll see you on the water!

I'm just getting into fishing and have been trying several different drop shot knots and have had difficulty mastering them, but this knot and your video had me instanting tying several perfect drop shot setups right away as I practiced. FYI although this knot is easy it compromises line strength to a huge degree. When you are talking about 6-8lb test used in drop shotting this is a massive issue. Palomar with tag end being brought back through top is far superior.

Super job on this video, man. I watched probably 6-7 videos on how to's for this knot, and you're explanation and especially your camera/video work is the best on YT. Period. After watching your vid and trying the knot again on my own.. Nailed it first time. Again... Thanks, and keep up the good work. Super easy knot after seeing what was going on with it and it's easier than the Poly in my opinion.

already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). kzfaq.infoUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.

Excellent instructional video. I like the fact that you can make the first loop using either end & still leave a very long tag end for your weight if you want to fish it up off bottom by a few feet. I really like the Palomar knot for braid but I think this works better for mono & FC, which is what I generally use for drop-shotting. Plus it's very difficult to tie a Palomar leaving such a long tag end. Can't wait to try it out on the water!
