Keeping your trail foot down has benefits however, you must do it correctly. This means an internal rotation to stabilize the trail hip so the arms can increase speed.
In this video I discuss increasing your speed with proper footwork.
About the SPS.
SPS Book: amzn.to/41KdtA7
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

Finally, a new lesson! You are doing a great job, Todd. I have been following your program for three years. Bought your book and watched all your videos. I did not make progress as fast as I was expecting, but probably because I am not that talented, but I still have faith in the SPS method. This season will be my breakthrough - I really feel like it! Once again, thanks a lot for your teaching. Best regards from Poland Karol

Great vid..I keep my trail foot flat although my weight is 90 percent on lead foot...I have a 2 plane swing but with this trail foot down I send the ball to left/hook... tks Todd and kudos Mo Norman

The right foot down & SPACE MANAGEMENT is the sole reason I switched from a 2 plane swing to a Moe Norman SPS. The teacher of regular swing have NO IDEA what space management is, not helped by PGAT announcers yelling out "Oh look, he's on his toe, effective use of power from the ground". What?!? Seriously?! Love this video Todd 👍

Great video probably my biggest fault especially as the round goes on is I rotate too much and start hitting everything left. Just have to keep on working until it becomes second nature as I continue to unlearn 40+ years

I apologize for keep saying this “is ur best video yet!” Hope everyone realizes how valuable these are and the price is $0 and these are some of the very small issues that have likely kept me from really “getting it” over the last 20 years!!

Hey Todd. Thank you. I saw a short video about 12 months ago about Moe, then as a result, found your channel. I have played golf, badly, my whole life. After finding your channel I have been working on, what is the closest I can get to the SPS. It isn't easy to change habits of a life time but as I have got more and more confidence with the SPS I have noticed 2 things: When I hit it well, the ball doesn't deviate, even if I hit it not so well, the result is nowhere near as bad as with my old swing. I am sure I am not doing a whole heaps of things well, but the result is that I now want to go to the driving range, because I want to experience shot after shot just going dead straight AND now, as I get comfortable with the swing, with more distance than at any time previously. Thanks again from Australia.

Looks like it might be easier to practice with driver to start with since the stance is wider and presumably would allow your to reach resistance earlier? Just a guess, will have to try this.

When you "crack the whip", the handle must remain "stopped" to transfer momentum through the wrist movement and down to the tip. Same thing for swing, hips, arms and club head.

Easily the hardest thing to do with this swing. 25+ yrs of getting on my right toe during the follow thru is a difficult habit to break. I've tried to drill it, but it puts a tremendous amount of strain on my lower back.

Have you ever seen a baseball player swing the bat flat footed? How about a tennis serve? Hockey slap shot? Hard to buy into the conventional golf swing is un-natural when your concept of flat foot hitting is counter to every other stick/racquet sport out there that needs to generate power. Buying +1” clubs to compensate for distance loss due to this swing is how you have overcome your distance loss. No one gains distance with this swing or club speed so there is a trade off to say otherwise is disingenuous.

Understanding biomechanics, the goal of the trail leg is to "limit" the rotation of the pelvis. The trail leg turns internally. I recommend keeping the tail foot down thorough impact to keep the leg moving internally. I recommend lifting the foot at the finish. Other sports achieve the same thing. Hockey players, the leg (trail leg, hip and skate) move backwards. The pelvis rotation is similar to what I recommend - in effect, keeping the trail leg moving internally. All sports will have similar motion of internally rotating the trail leg to slow the pelvis.
