What a wonderful opportunity to attend this workshop. Your mother has left you such an amazing treasure by putting those books of your family history together. I think you will feel even closer to your parents after doing this. I did a tribute page to my mom in one of my journals after she passed and it made me feel so happy to remember all of the things she loved. Fortunately, for me, she kept everything so over the past couple of years - and especially with our move from CA to TX - I've discovered so many things. Your parents have left you a legacy and that's quite a gift. Can't wait to see the journal!

Barbara, what an absolute treasure that book of photos you have. I have a lot of family photos but not as far back as your family photos. Your Mom was beautiful and your Dad so handsome. I am so glad you picked their pictures to do the workshop. After you showed all what you are taking, I can’t believe it all fit in two bags! How lovely to do a courtship/wedding/life-together journal of your parents' relationship. I like the Frida journal idea too, but it seems that Fortuna is telling you to do the journal for your parents. Frida will not have a hard time waiting for her turn! You got all your supplies into 2 tote bags! It's great that you'll have so much to choose from. Documenting your parent's relationship seems perfect for this workshop, and the photos you have are sublime. Your dad's ruler and your mom's pen carry their vibrations. Can't wait to see the finished work; it will be a true treasure. As for digitals of the women's photos, yes please! I love them all but the woman in the sunglasses is captivating. There is so much happiness radiating from that photo. Maybe every moment of her life was not joyful, but that moment surely was. Love the photo next to sunglass lady who is showing off her figure in her slinky dress! Old school Instagram style!

Can’t wait to see your creation after the workshop. Such a beautiful thing to do for your parents. I know you’ll come back brimming with ideas & energy & wondering why you were ever nervous about it. I too always take too many things with me to craft. When I was relieving at Single Officer stations as a Paramedic, we used to do 8 days (& 7 nights) on/6 off, so I’d pack my car with loads of art & craft items to play with when I was on call & waiting for cases. Otherwise I’d have gone nuts from boredom lol. You get very good at dropping everything & jumping into uniform when you’re on call for emergencies a lot.

I've been making a family keepsake journal, and I'm still working in it every now and then. It has my parents' story, (both passed away long ago) our family of four, with both my sister and me through the years and my own lovestory and also my son's story (now 12). I write little anecdotes in it, and it also holds my favourite pictures of my family, little poems and lyrics even. Things that were / are typical for my family and my childhood. It's such a pleasure to still work in it, reading the memories, seeing the photos. And I'm so happy that my son will have such a personal keepsake when he's older, he knows about it and loves to sometimes look in it. I have several journals I work in, but this one gives me probably the most joy because it is so dear to my heart. I am sure you will love the process and that your work will be amazing. Can't wait to see the result. ❤

Ich konnte richtig mit dir mitfühlen. Wenn der Tag immer näher rückt und man noch kein sicheres Gefühl hat, was man machen möchte. Aber dann sind ein paar Zufälle passiert, die dir den Weg gezeigt haben 👍🏻 und es hat sich richtig angefühlt. Für solch einen außergewöhnlichen Kurs war es genau die richtige Entscheidung,!Erinnerungen an deine Lieben festzuhalten ❤ Bin so gespannt wie es weitergeht geht 😊 Ganz liebe Grüße Susanne 🥰

Thanks for sharing your packing and ideas about your family journal. I also have a lot of family photos from the forties. My Dad was in the RCAF and my Mom worked as a secretary during that time. Today March 8th, international women's day. Wanted you to know that you are loved and appreciated. I'm glad that I have some old pictures of my grandparents and other family members. Thank you sharing. My dad served in World war 2 and I have a picture of him in his uniform and a copy of his draft card. I'm so excited to have this.🤗🤗🤗😊 To you.

COOL photos😍 I love them! My Mom kept old photos for us, she's passed now and my Dad says he can't find them 🤦 lol he can never find anything🙈. The photos get heavy but I've always taken great inspiration from them and my grandmother's stories of how she brought her young family up through the war and her wonderful attitude has given me my strength. Oh you look like your Mom, pretty lady! What a lovely theme 💖. Yes I'd love the old photos! Such gorgeous ephemera😍. Lol I forgot my shorthand too 🙈. Ein Journal über bedeutsame Frauen zu machen, diese Idee finde ich auch super! 👍 Deine Idee für den Workshop ist aber noch besser. Ich würde alles dafür geben, einen Familienschatz mit solch einer Fülle an alten Fotos zu besitzen! 🥰 Das ist wirklich etwas ganz besonderes. Du hast sehr schöne Fotos deiner Mutter ausgewählt, eine sehr schöne Frau 😊. Alles, was du an Material mitnimmst, wird ganz bestimmt zu super Ergebnissen führen, da sind so tolle Sachen dabei 😍. My mom has an album too, my older sisters did not want ... it filtered down to me.( I have 4 older sisters, 2 have passed) my mom was born 1914, so these photos are very stoic and of course no colour. I have used some already, but I am so excited to see what you create, then gleen some ideas. Your parents sound awesome!!!❤ Jeannie

So fun to take a workshop IRL and make a album with memories. I have had such a hammer. It's both cute and useful :-) There are screwdrivers in the handle if I remember correctly.

Wow, I feel so connected to you today. I am currently working on a Frida journal ❤ and this weekend I am volunteering at the Grand Opening of the Women’s History and Cultural Center at my local Girl Scout Council in Orlando… And when I moved into my new house four years ago - first time ever living alone - I put up the sign in my bedroom that has the Be Bold quote on it like your pouch 😊 I cant wait to see and hear about your retreat! Oh my those books 😮😮😮😮😮😮 such a treasure . They make a hole kinda in your stomach while looking at them, but they are amazing and every picture tells a story. Heavy but yet so much love looking at it. Just love your channel. I feel like a KZfaq stalker😂. I’m not but I do love your work and your heart comes out in every video. Okie done being mushy.
