Oh wow, I can see why you would be overwhelmed Barbara! I would never imagine making a journal in this way, with such bulky objects and extreme processes. They turned out absolutely gorgeous and unique, that’s for sure and I imagine everyone was excited and inspired by the end! Thank you for sharing your book and a flip through of Hunny`s as well! Your book is spectacular!

If i had such a special and beautiful journal i would lock it up somewhere so that sunlight and dust and human hands couldn't touch it and wear it out. With that said, you are so right for keeping it on a shelf on display, such gorgeous art exist to be looked at and flipped through! It's like it's alive

What a loving and memorable way to honor your parents. 🤗 The workshop sounds like a dream come true, and that you were able to stretch outside your comfort zone. To say the journal is stunning would be an understatement! You have included so much about yourself as well, which makes this masterpiece even more meaningful. It is a treasure that you will cherish forever. 🤗❤️ Tamara

They all came out beautiful! I’m so impressed by everyone’s creativity. I can imagine how hard it’s to relax and enjoy the process of art making with someone else’s ideas especially when one doesn’t know the outcome of how the project would turn out. But I can tell you right now, it was worth it in the end.

It's so obvious that the workshop was an enriching and fun experience!! The journal is awesome. They say not to judge a book by its cover, but I truly feel that you can see the kindness and intelligence in your mother's photos (and I think she passed those traits to a certain someone!) and your dad is very handsome too. Thank you so much for sharing!!

Really love the effect of the acetate printed photos as well as the darned hole in that lovely pic of your grandparents. Some very unique elements. I have a piece of some kind of bark from my palm trees in my garden - they don’t develop that husky brown bark, but more a ridged thick almost paper like texture, in a green - creamy brown colour. You’ve inspired me to include it in my Ancient Egyptian journal somehow 😁 So thank you, Hanni & Alex for the ideas

I watched the two videos in 2023. A few months l later Alex offered a workshop in Sintra, Portugal for autumn 2024. I signed up and just received my supplies list. I came back and rewatched your videos. They were really helpful. I am traveling from South Carolina to Portugal, but I am used to maximizing my art supplies in a minimal space when I travel. Besides, art supplies are more important than packing extra clothes! Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you so much for introducing me to Alex Castro Fereirra. I have a very long way to go in my JJ journey - but I have such special and amazing 'tutors' to teach, encourage, and inspire me. But before that, I am so glad that you 'trusted the process' - what you have created is of course unique and incredibly special. And it looks VERY much at home in your studio. Hunni's book is beautiful too.🧡💚🤎 And now here I am, at 10.30pm New Zealand time, squeezing out green tea bags, spritzing coffee, and sprinkling salt on to several sheets of paper!!.😊

I am so entralled by your memory book!!!!! It is magnificent!!!! I think you need one of those, I'm not sure what they're called but they're used in libraries to hold dictionaries. I've seen them in pictures of kitchens holding cookbooks. Anyway, whatever they are, maybe they are just called book holders!!!! That would be a neat way to display your memory book. Wow these are fantastic. I do like the natural elements, the sticks, skeleton leaves, hydrangea flowers, little bundles etc. I also use dried corn sheaths , poppy seeds, pebbles with holes in them, tiny shells from the Pacific islands, feathers tiny pebbles that have natural holes in them, the "woven layers" from my palm tree and the naturally dried purple petals from the lasiandra tree. I loved the darned holes, the rusty keys and washers. My "Hags Book of Days" is like this style but i have learned more techniques novelties to add from watching your video. Thank you do much. i love how you put the black feather with a picture of you mom, apparently s black feather means that you have a guardian angel protecting you from any evil or negativity

Love it…what an inspiration and beautiful tribute to your parents . I don’t mind the speckle spots on the photos but the abrupt lines especially the first one coming out of your moms eye. That’s too different for me but I love the rest🥰

I am in progress with this online workshop. Thank you and Alex and Hanni so much, this has been a helpful video, not least of which is you're sharing some of the worries I had and the same resolution - embrace it! Love your finished product! Xx
