Welcome to #Prague #Czechia, our 28th country on our round the world trip! This Prague vlog is Part 2 of our video series exploring the best things to do, see and eat in Prague, Czech Republic. If you haven’t watched our first video, we explored Old Town Prague where we saw the Astronomical Clock, climbed the Town Hall tower, ate Czech food and visited two Prague Christmas Markets! You can watch that here: • PRAGUE CHRISTMAS MARKE...
In this vlog, we start our day early at the famous Prague Castle, one of Prague’s top attractions. Here, we strolled down Golden Lane, went inside the St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica and the Old Royal Palace. Plus, we enjoyed some tasty gingerbread and Medovina, or Mead, at the Prague Castle Christmas Market :) If you’re planning a tour of Prague Castle, then get there early because it gets packed quick!
After checking off the top touristy things to do in Prague, Czech Republic, we wanted to experience some unique and fun things to do in Prague. So, we went to Prague City Hall to ride on the exciting and scary Paternoster lifts, or elevators! These elevators are spread across many buildings in Prague and are so much fun to ride! Thank you, @HonestGuide for sharing this Prague secret with us!
Next, we walked over to the Mala Strana neighborhood, which is way less touristy than Old Town or Prague Castle. Here, we tried some delicious Czech food at Cafe Savoy, which we highly recommend! We had the Czech Fruit Dumplings and the Czech Potatoes with Dill Sauce and Eggs. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD!
Afterwards, we strolled through Kampa Island, which was quite peaceful. We saw working water mills on the river, took in gorgeous views of the Charles Bridge and saw the John Lennon Wall.
To end our last day in Prague, we enjoyed some fresh Czech beers and fried cheese at the Lokal pub, then walked down the narrowest street in Prague.
We hope you enjoyed our Prague videos and cannot wait to come back to explore more of Czechia one day. As always, we’ll see you in our next video as we Keep Going Places!

Did you check out Honest Guides' vid on toilets in Prague before you went? (pun not intended). Anyway, what great places away from the maddening crowd. There's so much to see outside of Old Town that makes up for the huge throngs of people and makes it worthy for a repeat visit. Like your honest reviews (we thought Lokal was ok not great as well). But oh the strolls around the back alleys and off the more beaten paths are wonderful. Where to next? Can't wait.

We didn't see that one, but wish we had! Haha Yeah, we enjoyed the areas where there weren't so many crowds. Plus, it's fun just wandering through side streets and other neighborhoods. We like to be honest in our videos; it's difficult not to cut some talking segments because we don't want to seem like we're complaining too much. But, at the same time, we want to level set expectations for other travelers and not mislead people thinking every destination is going to be what they see on Instagram or inspirational travel videos. Anyways, the beer at Lokal was good, the fried cheese was okay. I still stand by what I said about those Czech fruit dumplings at Cafe Savoy tough -> delicious! From Prague, we went to Nuremberg, Germany to kick off our Bavarian Road Trip series! Can't wait to post those videos!

We took the Rick Steves suggestion of getting to the castle early to beat the crowds and ran into some neighbors doing the same thing!!! Prague was part of our trip after Vespa tour. Love the gems of places you guys found, like that elevator!!!

Great Vid. I used to live in Prague and it brought back some brilliant memories. I’ve got itchy feet again....😩 There are some quieter Christmas markets in Vinohrady in Prague 2. You’ll have to go back and explore the outskirts. Fewer tourists!

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it, especially as a former Prague resident. We tried a couple of smaller ones near our AirBnB that we liked a lot but we are always up for trying more! Thank you for the tip. ☺️

You should have visited technical museum in Prague. It sounds boring, but you get to see the technology of romantic golden era of 1920-30s, planes, trains, cars, bikes. If Jordan loved water mills, he may even faint after seeing steam locomotive. All tourists see us as old medieval Prague, but we were a major industrial power in europe before WW2. Which is why this museum is kinda empty. If you are into art, visiting national art gallery is worth your time. But greatest mistake tourist make is they stay in Prague, go visit other spots. Kutná Hora for amazing cathedral and special burial place, Terezín for concentration camp, Josefov to see the largest fortress of Austria-Hungarian empire, various castles across the country, and if you do not come in winter, visit the lush nature. There is plenty of small roads going through our country, so you can spend a day or few just cycling, every small hill offers a new view. And every village pub offers a cold beer.

Ah, the technical museum should have been on our list! Sounds fascinating. We will for sure visit Czechia again. We want to get a car and set out on a road trip for a couple of weeks exploring the countryside and other towns. Thank you so much for your recommendations. Very helpful! -Jordan

@@KeepGoingPlaces Forget the car, this is a country where you can reach anywhere by public transport. Car is just an inconvenience binding you to the road, and parking in city centers sucks. Get a hotel for 3-4 days in one town, explore surroundings in daily trips, and move to another town. 2 large backpacks and small ones to travel, 1 pair of boots, 1 pair of sandals. Many hotels have rental bikes. This is not USA where you need car for everything. If you avoid Prague, renting a room in hotel will cost equal to pocket change. Almost. Make sure you visit information centers and interrogate the stuff there what is worth visiting. They also sell touristic maps, or use portal mapy.cz (better than googlemaps for czechia). many czechs rent a canoe to go down river vltava, it is about 4 day leisure trip, they bring the ship to your starting destination and pick it up where you end, bring a tent if you do, there are camps along the river.

When these tourists started complaining about other tourists in a tourist site, I stopped watching. Bunch of clowns. Tomorrow I will go to the supermarket and complain there are lots of customers buying apples. How dare the supermarket let other customers in, I’m special. Don’t they know that?!
