Welcome to #Prague #Czechia, our 28th country on our round the world trip! In this video, we explore the incredibly popular capital city of the Czech Republic during Christmas time!
We begin our first day out early on the Charles Bridge, one of Prague’s top attractions. If you want to get a great photo or a peaceful morning moment, be sure to arrive at the Charles Bridge before 8 AM. Once the vendors set up at 9 AM, in come the people!
Next, we make our way to see some of the top attractions in Prague’s Old Town like the Prague Astronomical Clock, the gorgeous Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and the main Prague Christmas Market in Old Town Square. For a break, we head over to get some traditional Czech food. Our go to are the delicious Czech Kolaches in Old Town Prague! They are SO GOOD!
To end our first day in Prague, we watch a special lamp lighting on the Charles Bridge that only happens in December each year. And, we even make it to an ALL VEGAN CHRISTMAS MARKET in Prague!
Stay tuned for our next vlog in Prague, Czechia! As always, we’ll see you in our next video as we Keep Going Places!

Jordan, we subscribers are feeling you on putting the cherry and sweet cheese kolaches together! That's a veteran move right there. Also, love that you offered it to Ashley and there was no hesitation for her to say, "No" (maybe she was grumpy, as she admitted :) - "K, BYE!!'). LOL. Love this video!

It's ok to be grumpy sometimes. There's just something about Praha that keeps drawing you back. The crowds are insane for sure though I'm sure you found that if you got outside the old city it's a lot better. Looking so forward for the next installment.

Haha, Ashley giggled at the grumpy comment. You’re right, there’s good reason Prague is that popular with tourists. We found plenty of areas outside of old town that were less crowded and a wonderful time. In our next video, we explored Kampa Island, the castle and more. We can’t wait to go experience other areas of Czechia, especially the Moravia region. -Jordan

24:24 I love the veggie market! We're also primarily vegetarian, while also omnivore and vegan days in the mix to be conscious of the environment. It's right up our alley and hope to also visit it one day. That's so cool you guys found this unique Christmas market during your stay in Prague!

We have hotel and plane reservations for Prague Christmas markets but the city has not made up its mind to hold them this year because of Covid. They wiill decide late November. So we made alternate reservations for Colmar. Your video was why we decided last year December to go to Prague Christmas Markets little did me know the city “might” cancel it again this year. We went on Christmas Market tour in 2019 and loved it.n

We, the Czechs, are not standoffish, though many foreigners are claiming it.. We are like coconuts compared to USA or western Europe, which are mostly referred to be like peaches - in terms of you'll need to go through our hard packet in order to get to the soft core.. But once you'll get there, we are friends for life.. It has to do a lot with our sad history.. Anyway, have a nice day and thanks for your appreciation of the most beautiful city on Earth:)

Love the analogy you provided, Viktor. This is very helpful. I can understand this is much more complex and has a lot to do with Czechia's history, not to mention the over-tourism issue Prague faced pre-COVID. Plus, we noticed a big difference on our third day when we learned to greet people with "Dobrý den!" :) I look forward to visiting more areas of Czechia in the future. -Jordan

@@KeepGoingPlaces Sure, to learn basic phrases in Czech helps a lot.. I would recommend to learn "Ještě jedno pivo, prosím", which means "One more beer, please":) As you might have already seen, we are the heaviest beer drinkers all over the world, with 162 litres per person per year.. But of course our great Czech ones, not the Bud lights etc... For your next visit I would recommend Český Krumlov - a fairy tale city on UNESCO; Kutná Hora - the church with decorations made out of real human remains; Mikulov; Telč; Plzeň - the birthplace of our greatest beer, the Pilsner Urquell; Ostrava - a unique former coal mine city,; Olomouc - very comparable to Prague: Brno - the second largest city after Prague etc etc... Have a nice day

Possibly going to Prague in December, wondering where did you get your boots Ashley?! Those seem like they are perfect for walking, and stylish too!

Hey Jordyn! The boots are from Cole Haan! They’re waterproof and super warm. I will say though they take some breaking in. They were pretty stiff for a while. Still though, great city boots for cold/snowy weather!

In a town south of Dallas called West. They are known to have a large population of people with Czech heritage. There are several great bakeries there but our favorite is Gerik’s.

it says this vid was published on the 3rd of Aug 2020. So, it must have been shot anytime prior in that year ..? In the thick of corona pandemic ..? So much crowd .... and no social distancing ..? And no mask on one one soul..?! Am i missing something ..? Funny vid. There is so much length and detail on the girl and the man biting into pastry ..! 🤭 no offence .. jus sayin. they both don't look English speaking. But doing so excellently. Clear & crisp .
