Father, I'm making a major edit of a comment I posted 2 weeks ago. I did not intend to take the focus away from or dispute your very important comment on keeping holy on Sunday, what is allowed and what is forbidden. Keeping Sunday holy is so important and so ignored by so many people I apologize for getting carried away with a rather lengthy screed on a small point about the garden, which seems to have brought forth more negativity and taken a bit of focus off of the essential and important message! It's something I will remember for the future. (I'm sure you were not saying Jesus would condemn a woman for enjoying a peaceful Sunday afternoon enhancing and enjoying her flower garden, her "work of art" in cooperation with God, but that one should not labor in gardening for pay, do any heavy duty gardening or work on produce when the weather and growing situation is not threatening.)

He mentioned if an employer doesn't let me have Sunday off that the sin falls on my employer? I've been struggling with this topic, I've told my boss I need Sundays offs and won't be able to come in, he has told me since I'm part of management it is required for me to work weekends if not he might have to demote me. If I work some Sundays is that sin on me? I have a family, but I'm not struggling financially right now. I was thinking of just saying no and taking the demotion, but worry about my family and financial future. So far I have had the blessing of having Sundays off but if I accept one Sunday a month I'm sure it will turn to every Sunday.

In the end as it is in heaven it shall be on earth revelation says what happens in heaven - the worship god day and nigh and their will be no darkness. Ultimately we will worship god at any time in any location.

I have a question and I pray someone can give me clarification on this... I work at a restaurant is it wrong for me to work on a Sunday. I don't see how a restaurant is a mandatory or necessary thing to be open on Sunday, to get food someone could simply go to a grocery store get what they need for that. But my boss is not telling me that I might not be able to have off on Sundays because we r so busy. Is it a sin for me to work or not do the right thing here but I desperately need clarification on this.

Some say that the 7th day is Saturday. Why do we go to mass on Sundays and therefore consider Sunday as the Lords day? Please enlighten me on this.

noemi garcia Jesus rose from the dead on a Sunday. Similarly, we abstain from meat on Friday as Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday.

This is NOT any form of condemnation to Catholic people. I believe most are merely deceived. I am exposing the Papal beast system which is the Little Horn power of Dan 7:8. There is NOTHING in the Bible to say that sunday is the Lord’s day. NOWHERE TO BE FOUND !!! It is NOT the Sabbath day,it is a counterfeit of the Papal beast! Sabbath is the Lord’s day. (Isaiah 58:13-14). (Fri sunset - Sat sunset) Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath not Lord of Sunday ! (Matt 12:8) The Sabbath is the 4th Commandment NOT the 3rd ! The Roman Catholic beast CHANGED the commandments from what is in the scriptures (Dan 7:25 - the beast who thinks to change times and laws. God’s times;God’s laws). . Compare Exodus 20:3-17 with the Mother of Harlots Commandments in her catechism of catholic doctrine ! Where is #2 ???? Idolatry ???? I a catholic and the sabbath is Saturday the last day of the week. The bread was Brocken on the first day of the week which is Sunday the lords day which is different to the sabbath.

Actually, it is "The Feast Of First Fruits" that is significant in the resurrection of Christ, not Sunday... There is no commandment in the scriptures to keep Sunday, unless it happens to fall upon one of the appointed times of God's Spring or Fall Feasts.(See Leviticus 23 & 1 Cor. 15 : 20 - 24 )... The Sabbath/The Lord's Day, is still the 7th Day in The 10 Commandments... Exodus 20 : 8 - 11

It’s unnecessary and I would say if you spend a large part of the day watching then yes it is a sin. Those sporting events don’t give glory to God and his creation!!

People who have the care of small children are excused if they cannot make some or all of the Mass. Charity (in this case, care for the children) comes first.

George Martian Jewish customs and Laws all point to the Lord Jesus Christ. Many celebrate mass on Sunday (you are called to celebrate Jesus on every day) because Jesus arose from the dead that day. Jewish customs will not save you. Let the circumsized be not ashamed of his circumcision. Let not the uncircumcised desire circumcision, but the circumcision of the heart to the LORD. Let not you be judged on your keeping of Sabbath and festivals. The Son of Man is the LORD of the Sabbath. We do not practice the Jewish Sabbath, which avails not, for we have the fullness of Christ and do not wait on the inheritance but have it, but we keep the LORD's day Holy so as to celebrate His Resurrection and complete our obligation of working on 6 days and resting on 1. Of course, we are called to make all days holy as well.

Steve Sanders It is the first day of the week in Spanish calenders. Also, it's not a keeping of the Jewish sabbath, but a celebration of the Resurrection, which happened on Sunday.
