Amazing…that point at 9-5 (to go 10-5) in the 3rd game was too good… just hanging on and remaining in the rally to eventually go for the kill … this girl looks awesome

Fitness and speed. As others have said, Shourbinin has played - and won - a lot of great squash recently. Gillis' fitness likely paid off here.

Sherbini's nicks are just eye candy. But why are almost all the highlights on her winners and not Nele's?

That is the regular style of Squash TVs summaries.... if you see most shots from one player (Sherbini) but the other one (Gilis) and the other player (Gilis) is getting most of the points you do not get to see between clips, then you can be absolutetly certain the least seen player is the winner in the end. Try that thought if you watch Squash TV summaries, it will never fail🙂

If you see the full match there weren't a ton of outright winners from Nele. She just rope-a-doped, gambling that the hot court and live ball would allow her to get to everything but a perfect drop or boast (the Nour highlights) and that her superior fitness would win out in a baseline slugging match if she didn't get caught flat-footed by cross courts. The announcers pointed out her strategy at 6:15. Either NES hit a winner, made an error or tapped out of the point (3:51). Not really a recipe for a ton of Nele highlights despite her brilliant (and ultimately successful) gameplan!

From what i always see, sherbini used to play unfairly by asking for many let everytime when she can't chase the ball (eg: when she played tougher opponent like Hania & Nicol David). But this time, she played fairly (from this short video not the whole play of this game)

An absolutely atrocious egyptian crowd once again. No respect for the game or for the performance of a lifetime from Gillis. Beating the best player of all time in her absolute prime should get applauded and acknowledged, but these egyptian crowds are just so biased and spoiled by the succes of their players. Not a good way to promote the game of squash world wide. 😢. A ton of respect for Gillis here. What a win!!!
