The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is proud to be the last stop on the tour of "Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic. We were honored to have the artist here on June 14 to present insights and the inspiration behind his work, starting with examples of his early paintings around the time of his 2001 residency at the Studio Museum in Harlem. We hope in this video, viewers are able to come away with a more comprehensive understanding of Kehinde Wiley's observations about European and American art and culture.

You continue to amaze. I knew the artist was different (in a good way) in the first piece of work I saw. He is a thinker and knows what he wants to do. Enjoyed the talk very much.

There are no whites in your paintings Wiley with the exception of a white woman's head held by a black woman with pride in her eyes.

I dont see any modern artists painting a white woman decapitating a black woman, but i wont generalize when a black woman does it.

can you imagine the uproar burning cars smashing businesses is ok for some, you know I am always stunned when I see thousands of fine young and older black men and women who are very successful but BLM never mentions any of them or even hold them up to young black people as an example that you can be successful if you desire but if one drug dealing welfare punk gets shot dealing my god theres a firestorm telling the youth see were treated badly I am not American but I can tell you about abuses my ancestors in Scotland went through by the English government we were traded in and replaced by sheep how do you think that felt take our language dress home and ship us to some country we had hardly heard of, but we've put it behind us worked our arse of for our family to teach them to be successful at whatever they want to pursue and fight for what's right without valance it can be done if the desire is there, to all young black kids go show the world what your made of my heros are Martin Luther King and Mohamed Ali oh and William Wallace " Braveheart "

shall we discuss many paintings where black people were used as accessories and showing ownership ? That picture was a representation of a photo done by Tiepolo. Please do your research

You're wrong. Wiley is a multi-millionaire because people buy his paintings.
