As Sir Keir Starmer led the first full day of the new Labour government, he delivered a press conference addressing the nation as the new prime minister.
It comes after newly appointed cabinet ministers have discussed the next steps in the first No 10 meeting.
Sir Keir made a raft of appointments on his first day at Downing Street including Rachel Reeves as Britain’s first female chancellor, Yvette Cooper as home secretary and David Lammy as foreign secretary, who called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
The party won one of the biggest parliamentary majorities in history, with 412 seats - a majority of 176.

spoiler: we're f%%ked. energy prices will go up, tax will go up, house prices will go up, crime rates will go up, woke nonsense will be taught in schools, womens rights will be obliterated to make room for "trans" rights, the border will be opened wide for rampant immigration and we'll probably end up with some silly servitude agreement to the EU.
