Hello all!
I Was quite surprised and humbled how many people viewed my Brad Mehldau transcription video last week!? Over 3000 views now! Seriously? Was quite grateful for all the nice comments as well. :) Thought I would follow it up with this gorgeous Keith Jarrett intro to the song “In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning” from Keith Jarrett at the Blue Note Vol 2. I have been a huge Jarrett fan for some time and particularly love how he sets the mood for his songs in the intro’s. The wonderful jazz vocalist Kurt Elling seems to have been equally impressed by this intro and actually wrote lyrics to it. I would strongly suggest checking out both of these amazing versions.

This project didn’t go exactly as planned because KZfaq yesterday blocked the release of the first version of this video over a copyright claim… So I decided to relearn this solo that I transcribed like 20 years ago and record my own version. This actually turned out to be a rewarding experience. Def couldn’t make it sound exactly like Keith Jarrett because… errrr… he’s Keith Jarrett… But hope you enjoy it anyway…
I will try to post a transcription every week for the next couple months so if you are enjoying these, please subscribe to my KZfaq channel. :)
