I've been listening to this (while following along with your transcription) almost everyday for months now. It's SOOO good! The first time I heard it when I was just listening to the album, of course the walking bassline jumped out as a revelation. But the more I listen to it, the more I find myself drawn to the left hand comping prior to the walking bassline. I'm not sure what I would call that style of left hand playing... It's essentially like bebop comping (with shell voicings), but evolved. I think my favorite of Keith's trio albums are the ones he made after his illness, so late 90s and early 2000s (After The Fall, Yesterday's, My Foolish Heart). He uses a lot of those three-note shell voicings in that era that's reminiscent of guys like Bud Powell and the old bebop guys, but like everything that he does, he reinvented it and took it to another level. So to see that same approach on display here in a solo context is amazing. I think this particular tune serves as my favorite example of "free comping" in the left hand on a solo piano recording.

I love Keith Jarrett. But I am not sure whether it is worth praising him to the skies because of this "walking bass line". Please Google, for example, "Leonid Chizhik-All the things you are" and check it out. (Chizhik is a very, very underrated jazz piano player).

Impressive virtuosity, but it's excessively mechanical, with not much felt inspiration, almost like an academic exercise. Nowhere near his best work.
