Everyone is saying how similar Keith and Chris look so similar, but can we just talk about how hard Keith worked on this? And how WELL he pulled it off? I have so much respect for brass players already, because the weight of the instrument would already be something I’d struggle with, let alone standing there for hours to practice. But now? It’s just increased tenfold. He went from knowing nothing to being able to serenade us with a beautiful piece in 30 days, which just goes to show that NOTHING is stopping you from achieving your own personal goals. If you wanna learn how to play the guitar, do it! If you wanna learn how to speak Spanish, do it! Learning is how we all come together as people, and the end result is magical ❤️

Knowing nothing? He was a horn player all through university. Switching between brass instruments is like switching between guitar and bass; the basics and feel are nearly identical
@CoopMaLoop_Official
@CoopMaLoop_Official 2 жыл бұрын
@@andreigolovik3047 Actually at the beginning of the video he expressed that this is the only bass instrument he’s struggled with because it’s differed compared to what he’s played, and it’s why he chose it, because he knew it wouldn’t be easy. It’s not nearly identical, as I’m sure a trombone player wouldn’t be able to just pick up and play a French horn solo in a blink of an eye. Also, please remember it took him 30 days of practice to be able to do what he did, and i really doubt he only practiced for thirty minutes a day. He put in a lot of effort and time to get where he was at the end of the video, so no, it’s not easy. He started from knowing nothing about that specific instrument, and even stated that, and grew to be able to play a beautiful piece in thirty days, and that is a very daunting task. Edit; at 0:59 he even states “I have no idea how to play that thing, it’s got no valves”

fun fact, the trombone actually is one of the *lighter* brass instruments since it's essentially just one big hollow tube. Instruments like the tuba or baritone tend to be heavier bc a) there's more pipe to them and b) the valves (in my experience) tend to add on extra weight. also if you're lazy (although it's poor posture to do so and it's bad for your airflow if you're practicing big sound) you can sort of cross your legs and rest the bell on your knee when practicing to improve endurance

I’m a strings/piano instrumentalist. I have always thought the trombone is so cool. I am not a fan of brass instruments personally, but the trombone is the only one that excites me. It is definitely superior to the trumpet. I want to try the trombone for 30 days, but I would struggle so bad. I tried French horn for a college class and struggled so bad. I haven’t developed the breath control since you don’t need it for piano/violin/bass guitar lol But maybe I’ll do it anyways to humble myself. Power to the trombone!

Tbh not a single high school trombonist I know could've played that first piece that he gave you. You had beautiful tone AND a vibrato??? Better than 95% of high school trombones lol

As the first chair trombone at my school, I agree. I don't think I would have been able to play it. Maybe with enough time but it wouldn't be easy at all and probably not the best quality. His tone tho is amazing. Better then mine.

Yeah. That's the type of song you have to commit to over time already being at high-school level, not beginner like our friend Keith. I'd struggle playing that for awhile even as a second chair trombone at my highschool.

Yeah, I played that first piece for my college audition. 90% of high school players would struggle greatly with that piece

As a high school trombone player, I’m surprised he has not tried to play the USSR anthem or make race car sounds like a true high schooler. Trombones are weird like that.

I'm a bit late to this, but I am a senior in high school and I have been playing the trombone since 4th grade. While I am making this comment I am in the middle of the video, but all I can think about right now, is can someone please teach him to tongue lol. I am very impressed on how fast you are learning to play the trombone, and even though I have been playing for years, I still learn many different things and face many challenges daily. I am sad that I will soon be graduating and most likely will never play the trombone again, I am pleased to know that you wanted to learn to play the trombone. The first concert of this year will be this Tuesday, I'm quite nervous because we haven't practiced enough and two of the freshmen trombones don't know how to play that well, but they have been working so hard this year to learn and have been improving quite fast. But anyways, I'm glad to see you have been learning the trombone, and I encourage you to continue learning. Great Work Keith!
