I’m a hardcore Stones fan of many decades and would argue this as the greatest cover of any song of theirs I’ve heard yet. Superbly done. If Urban and his band become a Stones tribute band I’d go see him all the time 😁

This is absolutely spectacular. The whole band is ridiculously on point and wow the legendary long standing Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell sitting in. Amazing cover.

He basically retired Guitar Player of the Year in Australia before he came up from Down Under. He was playing to about 15 people in a remote bar in Nashville when he was discovered by Ansel Davis, a music attorney. When Ansel approached him and told him he was really good, Keith said, “I know that and you know that. That makes two of us ” The next years were tough- he slept in Ansel’s office for several of them. But lookee here! Talent will out!

he can play and sing anyone’s music.. one of a kind that Keith urban.. very unappreciated, by many, not me been a fan for years.. check out his crazy guitar skills. He’s in the top 10 of all time. Been playing since he was 4.. he’s not just “country” he’s amazing,❤️🤘🏼

I remember being half-asleep when this came on live. By the time it was over, I was so amped that I could’ve torn a phone book in half! Best live performance I’ve ever seen on a talk show. And I’m neither a Keith Urban or a Stones Fan. I can listen to their stuff; just not a “fan”.

I'm a huge stones fan and not a big fan of country but in Nashville they all say that boy is a great picker. Kieth Urban gives Keef a run in this version. Always knew Mr. urban was a great guitarist and this solidifies that and also an excellent stage presence. And Chuck on the keyboards. Wow! Clapton only plays with them best. Kieth Urban is one of the greats on guitar. More rock and roll Kieth.

Urban, like Linda Ronstadt, do the finest covers on the planet. I once saw him do the Joe Cocker cover, “A little help from my friends”. And, just like this tune, backed up by Little Big Town. It kicked butt too. Two thumbs up, Keith! 👍👍

This is the groovin'est version I've heard outside of the Stones. Freakin' great. The Stones live versions I have watched push the tempo up too much for my tastes. I read somewhere that Keith R. always wanted the slower groove and Mick wanted it faster.

Mick finds it easier to sing at a faster tempo. Very hard song to pull off for him at the slower tempo. But I agree with you. I love this tempo with all the harmonies, but also the stripped down live 72 version with just music, lead vocal and horns at the mellow tempo -- I can see why Mick would have trouble with that today, though...

Yeah, Mick always thought they pushed the wrong mix of this song. He likes up tempo and Keith liked slower or "groovy " version.

It’s a fine cover of a perfect work of art. That said, any attempt is going to fall short. Like Keef said, this song was required by the universe - there cannot be a world without it.

Great rendition! I really love the original version and play it in a Stones tribute band but this version is so energetic that it's big fun. I'm not so in Countrymusic and I'm actually no fan of K. U. but this piece he did very well! And the girls nail it!!! They are so awesome. I love that girl with the golden curls.
