Way to go Kelly, really enjoyed following you along this past 20 days. Super good video and commentary. Glad you got to see bears and a bobcat. Regarding bears I recommend Glacier National Park. I have done three backpacking trips in the park and have seen grizzlies each trip as well as mountain goats of some kind, not to mention the trail and the views.

John Muir walked from the midwest to FL long before he went west. I think his book about the journey was called 1000 mile walk to the sea. Along the way he traversed what is now the Cohutta Wilderness and documented his time walking through there. Its an interesting read if you're a fan of John Muir.

I think you would see a lot more hikers between about October and April. I really enjoy winter hiking/backpacking down here, with average lows near freezing and sunny days in the 50s. I really enjoyed your hiking videos on this trip.

Just recently found this channel, coincidentally right after you hiked through near where I live in the northwest fl area. I’m really enjoying your videos and glad I found a place I can still get to see all the beautiful things nature has to offer while I don’t have time to do so myself. Hey Kelly , how do you like your hoka speed goats ? Those mushrooms looked like chicken of the woods. It's a delicacy and taste like chicken. Never munch on a hunch though. I would have had to be there for better identification. Love your journeys keep on keeping on.

I really enjoyed the series. Congrats for knocking it out. You spotted all of that wildlife up in the area where I like to backpack. I got charged by a bear up in that area about 10 years ago. Apparently, I surprised and scared him. If you don't have bear spray four letter words and foul language generally works. Bears are emotionally sensitive.
