80's was just a wonderful time for music...There was no better feeling than going to the record store, seeing some kick ass artwork, not even knowing the band but the cover looked great, then rushing home to listen to it...Just not the same nowadays...

I had heard Shout at the Devil before, but my friend, like yours Rich, brought the cassette over and a few of us kids went camping not far from our houses. We were young and felt liberated. No parents. We stole beer and cigarettes. It's was gonna be fun. Then my friend puts this into my boom box and "In the Beginning" came on. Scared the shit out of us!!! What a great memory and great album too! Thanks for helping me remember the good ol' days!

Oh the boom box... good times... Here's my story: True story... The Christmas after their album "Shout at the Devil" was released, I had bought myself a brand new Sony Walkman and was walking home from a friend's place with this tape blasting in my headphones... in my faded jean jacket, hoodie and high-top sneakers, in a white-out blizzard; and the snow-plow had completely filled the sidewalks with snow so I was walking in those sneakers, at night, the street lights swaying like crazy and the Christmas lights shimmering faintly a kaleidoscope all around in about a foot of fresh snow, blowing like mad... in practically the middle of the road ! And I was covered with a good inch of snow uniformly on my back, head and shoulders and I couldn't hear the snow-plow coming up behind me and he couldn't discern me from the fallen snow in the wild blizzard and I felt the piling wave of snow wash over the back of my calves and I JUST managed to leap out of the way in time, but was buried from my knees down and couldn't move and the snow-plow driver realized the near accident and stopped, but the back-up beep had started and the 40 ton truck rolled back about a foot and I thought: "F*CKIN' HELL ! The guy's gonna back up to finish me off an nobody'll find me 'til New Years !" But the driver was freaked out and swore like hell at me, but at least grabbed his shovel and helped shovel my legs out of the snow. So I get a real rush of adrenaline from Mötley Crüe songs... for lots of good reasons !

Cant say enough about this album! It changed my life from that moment on.I new things were never going to be the same again in my life.Of course i started writng lyrics started singing. Bought a guitar.Maybe more exstream then most even started doing stuff these guys were doing off stage ass well.Sex drugs rock n roll.Being 15 years old i thought you had do it all to become these guys.In some ways this record in ways destroyed parts of my life. The best way to sum it up I became motley crue minus the big record deal and my dream of being a rock star didnt hapend.Being a full blown herion addict did.Lets just say Nikki Sixx was the one out of a million who made it.Allot more of us didnt. Not a day goes by I still want to give it one go at being the next motley.A kick ass real rock band.Like when i was putting together a band back in the day i could never find those 3 other guys that truly didnt give a fuck about nothing but sex drugs and rock and roll.

You asked us to share our comments on our Crew experience. We'll I got my driver's license in 1982 I'm 56 and I'm getting old but there is one thing I have to say. I would never ever wish to be young again if I had too do it in this day and age. I'm truly thankful to have lived my late teen and running around year's at the best time for music the world has ever known. We got the Walkman in 79, CDs in 84 and just about every month there was a new heavy metal power band coming out. We used to sneak in through the bathroom window at the Mountain View to watch Kix play in Smithburg Maryland every weekend when they were starting out and called themselves the Shews. I would always prefer my current age and the memories. I'm new to your channel and will be subscribing. You seem to Have a very supportive wife she's awesome I'm lucky in that way too. God bless.

Excellent!!! So happy to have found you guys and this reaction video specifically, and I agree with a few other comments I read about including "In the Beginning" because it's just not the same experience without that intro...I remember this album like it was yesterday too, as my older stepbrother had lived with his biological father in San Bernardino, CA near L.A. at that time, then he moved back to Georgia to live with us again. He brought 3 cassette tapes with him, "Metal Health" by Quiet Riot, "Out of the Cellar" by Ratt, and "Shout at the Devil" by Motley Crue! I had seen all of the videos that were on Mtv by then, of course, but had no idea what awaited me hearing the complete album top-to-bottom. I was a huge KISS fan by then, as we got into them when we owned "Alive II" on 8-track! I was born in '71 so I was very young, to say the least, and he was 6 years older so...our parents allowed me to go with him to see my very first rock concert too, which was Van Halen's "1980 Invasion Tour" - needless to say, I was hooked on this music from the beginning and it's still what I listen to on a regular basis (I cannot STAND "new" music)... Great reaction guys, so glad your lovely wife Kel enjoyed it so much too!

This song takes me back to 7th grade when this first came out. There were two groups that would bring jam boxes on the school bus. The back of the bus would have Motley Crue (usually Shout at the Devil) playing.....the bus is the first time I heard Motley Crue. The front of the bus would have New Edition (usually Candy Girl) playing. Such a bizarre mash-up.

Motley Crue were my favorite band of all time for many years. I won't clutter the page with a long story, but the first song I heard from them was Looks That Kill and it was instant. Like you mentioned in your video, I didn't "see" this song, I heard it on a boombox playing a cassette tape during track practice... we played our cassettes into dust in our car stereos and in our bedrooms. The thrill of browsing music stores and reading magazines like Hit Parader and Circus were as visual as it came in those days. Thoroughly enjoyed your comments.

Kel, i completely understand. Too often, videos can be distracting from great vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, etc. I prefer studio versions to hear what the band wanted you to hear, or try the official video for The Crue doing Wild Side. Banger of a song with an interesting twist on Tommy Lee playing drums. The video plays to the song, and I've seen many people able to react to that video specifically without getting blocked. Love you two, and have been subscribed awhile now. I'm 57 so this rock is overly familiar to me and i love to see first reactions to songs so well done.

Reaction videos are WAY better with no video to distract the listener, IMHO. True story: first heard Crue early eighties on a cassette Jeff Scott Soto and his friends got at a show at The Whiskey A Go Go in LA, and brought back to Ft Collins, CO. Only song on it was "Starry Eyes", I think. Nobody had ever heard of them before, and they told us about Nikki playing with his boots on fire! Jeff and those guys were influential on me - they were a few years older than me in school, and when Jeff got hired for Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force album, I picked up my first guitar to start chasing that brass ring, baby! Good times!!

So cool the video's live clips were from the Us Festival in '83, I was there. #painintheask Please react to Queensryche - Take hold of the flame. I think Kel will love the vocals.

Awesome song! I love old school Motley Crew. Will you guys please do Fates Warning. The Album is called, Parallels. Plz do The Eleventh Hour. It's extremely progressive and I think you'll love it. Thank you. As far as copy rights, you are actually advertising for the band's and people who never heard it, may actually go buy it.

I kinda wonder if the Devil is their original record company..?? Because LA record companies seem to be in some very dark Faustian deal, practices. And MC eventually became their own producers and created their own label.
