Kelogsloops gets way less credit than they should, their art's absolutely beautiful, and they put so much damn effort into each beautiful painting, I can only wish that I had that profession, and I'm so proud and happy that they show us their art, we don't deserve. Thank you so much for the help Kelogsloop's, you've helped me improve every day and I REALLY appreciate all you're hard work.

Glad I’m not the only one who listens to the same music on repeat - it absolutely keeps me in a consistent mindset - otherwise jarring music changes would create chaos in my head and affect the work

Raleigh Stewart I agree, one time I did a painting and listened to all of Billie Eilishs songs about two or three times and I’m not a huge fan of her, but it really helped me stay in the same mindset throughout the whole painting and I never even thought about it like that until now.

I wanna hear from you guys! Do you listen to music when you create stuff, does it inspire you in any way? If anything, what do you guys listen to? For me, I ALWAYS listen to music, and most of the time I listen to slower songs when I paint, but there are times when even something like EDM can inspire something! Then the next piece, I might listen to something mellow. Right now though, I'm listening to a track by EISU & Enluv, "Just Friends" as I'm working on a new piece :)

Honestly there's nothing more refreshing than hearing another artist speak about being a perfectionist and nitpicky and how they cope with the difficulties that come with this kind of attitude. Your work is absolutely stunning and I thoroughly respect and appreciate the patience and thoughtfulness that you put in each of your pieces.

So interesting that this piece can mean many things. For me, I instantly thought of myself being protected within my comfort zone of silence, with outside noise being blocked from entering. I am someone who _despises_ noise; I can't even listen to music for too long (which is the exact opposite meaning of this piece, yet I still feel relevant to it, ya know?), I can barely watch TV, my nightmares consist of just background noises, and I hate human voices in particular in any scenario. I live in a quiet suburb area for this reason, and I felt the familiar comfort I feel in total silence when I saw this artwork, which has never happened before because my washing machine is running, and my severe irritability was momentarily suspended. Thank you. Your piece connects to people in different ways and has a thousand different meanings. You sir, are a true artist.

Music usually keeps me in...the creative mood. The rhythm of it releases all the creative juices in my brain and lets me think of compositions and ideas for when I'm drawing, especially sketching. Not to mention that I love listening to people talk about a specific subject and I listen to them as if I were with them in person. Just like in this video, I was sketching a piece while listening to you speak of your process. That's pretty much it!

I was honestly encouraged as an artist to hear how the art you were exposed to growing up shaped your style. I’ve just never been particularly comfortable with doing sharp lines, and sometimes I feel bad about it. But considering the art I grew up with (e.g. Alan Lee’s work) my style makes sense! Thanks for sharing

I adooooore Gustav Klimt. I have since I was a wee one--I got a book filled with his work, really beautiful color photos, for $6 at a clearance sale when I was 10 years old, and it started an obsession that has never faded. Your art sparked the same "ooooh" feeling I get when I look at Klimt's work, which is why I had to click on your thumbnail. I do listen to music when I create! I feel like music bypasses logical structures and other limiting factors, which is essential for accessing creativity.

i listen to music constantly. when i'm cooking, reading, drawing, working and just hanging out. the one moment where i specifically work without music though, is when i'm choreographing(i'm a dancer) even if i'm choreographing to a specific song, i don't have the music playing while i create. i'll listen to the song, think of movement in my head and maybe step around a little bit and then from my memory of the song create the choreography. that way i can go through the song slowly in my own tempo, and i can start, stop, rewind and redo without having to break out of my "bubble" to fix with the music.

It’s actually has been a year of me procrastinating about trying to start using watercolor. The reason why it’s been a long time is because I’m afraid of trying something new because I’ve been too comfortable at just sketching. There’s always that feeling of giddiness bc I’ve always wanted to use watercolor but then again there’s always this worry that I would not be able to get out of my comfort zone, that I wouldn’t be good enough at using watercolor. But you’ve actually inspired me to start using watercolor and not be afraid of getting out of my comfort zone because that’s how we learn to better ourselves so thank you so much🙏🏻🙏🏻

So I watched this video last night. I've been struggling with putting the art concepts that I think of in my mind, down on paper. And I remembered your style and way of working and I clicked on this video. This is now the next day and I HAD to come back and leave a comment. Because watching this just unlocked something in me, in my process. Imogen's song is one of my favorites and I really wanted to sit down and listen to it, but I ended up listening to a song that has recently been my go to when i want to quiet down everything. The song is Exhale by Sabrina Carpenter. everything started to pour out of me, I had a notebook and a pencil and just let the ideas flow. I'm happy to say I've got my concept down and I am excited to bring it to life. Thank you for sharing this process. It was EXTREMELY helpful to me.

I think he overdid it with his perfectionism. The lines were right, but he did it so squeaky clean, that it became concept art. He even describes it clearly at the end 8.56. It's a shame, for me atleast. On the other note about music while working on art: If i know for sure what i am gonna make, then yes. And or else, during, exploring, sketching, competitive setups it varies a lot. Because even though there are music that fits what i will work with it, there is no music that fits 100% to the work. So, depending on how long the work is, it will require many stops or replays. It does take some attention now and then. If turn on music that i use as "fuel" to work with, it both gets me "going" and also burns my energy up faster. It can help me get going for hours, but i feel like over 8-17 hours or more, it does drain a lot of energy. I usually then have two options: end it with some music and then go to rest or sleep with some music in running. If i sleep with the music running it keeps, i usually wake up some hours in. It helps me keep feelings and thoughts on where i have reached with the work.

This video helps my artblock a lot. Or not artblock, I have been afraid to pick up art again for about four years.. I had a huge depression and after I got well again I went from drawing/painting almost everyday for 23 years to hardly draw at all, I have been doing at most two complete drawings a year after that time. I am and have always been a perfectionist. Thinking it is all in one go or nothing, and my fear of failing is so big and have grown bigger! I watch other videos and they mostly stars with the lineart which is already perfected. And watching your actual process helps a lot. The way you have a sketchbook and then process over trying varies of ways, and palettes. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your process. Your work is so ethereal and delicate. Stunning! I find reassurance in the fact that I'm not the only one nervous about masking fluid! And yes - I do listen to music. I usually put one song on a loop and listen to it over and over while I work before switching to another song. This is meditative to me. The song blends into the background and I'm able to focus on painting. Thank you again for your videos!

I listen to music 24/7 also when I don’t paint or draw, it helps me relax and be more like myself. I have ADHD and it helps me concentrate and be more focussed on the present day. I really am addicted to music

I listen to music when painting because it "keeps me awake" and its calming me. its like that music is why you're painting and if you stopped it you just wouldn't be able to paint . That music is the inspiration and motive of what you paint. And that's why i listen to music while painting =)

Most of the time, I do listen to music. Especially when I’m in an environment that is rather busy around me. When i’m in this type of environment, the music somehow draws me in, helps me stay focused on what i’m doing. I personally have a really hard time paying attention, so the music helps cancel out the busyness in the background. However, when I’m alone I sometimes find it very calming and pleasing to just sit in the pure silence and draw. This is typically when I’m just practicing my sketching, line-art, or different facial features.

I loved seeing your process and had to listen to Hide And Seek on repeat and dramatic dance around the living room with my toddler afterwards! That was a good time so, thank you! Her and I also went to see that show with Klimt in SF and I was also crazy inspired- even though I knew his work from photographs, I stood in front of that plaster wall for like 15 minutes in complete aww as if understanding him and what he was trying to do in a whole new way. It was spiritual, for lack of a better word. I just came across the brochure for the show in an old sketchbook yesterday so this video feels especially poignant. Thanks for sharing and helping inspire me!

I get the whole listening to a song on repeat while working thing. A ton of the art/writing I do is based on music and so I listen to a lot of songs over and over. I have this one song that I listen to on a loop if I'm writing or painting something because I just know it so well that it drowns out everything around me so I can concentrate. (Love your art btw!)

Yes I do. Like you, it puts me in my own space and music just allows my creations to flow. There was one time though that I listened to an audio book while working on a class project. I had to create a piece in relation to the book, so listening to it helped and also influenced the piece a lot

I feel the same tie between music and art. I so often find inspiration in a song, or sometimes an album, and I will listen to it on repeat the entire time I'm creating. Some may think it will get old listening to songs on repeat, but I can listen to them for hours, days, and weeks until the piece is done. I'm so excited to hear someone have a similar connection and process!

While painting I always listen to flute or piano instrumental, I seem to get more inspiration from music with alot of emotion. Thankyou for sharing your artwork, it gives me and most likely alot of other people the determination to keep on putting creativity on canvas.
