20:40 the reasons why most people opt for open plans are : 1. It gives the illusion of a larger house (like the agent said "theres space) eveb though it could have the same sqm as a closed-plan house . So the kitchen,dining and living room look bigger in size than they actually are . 2. Togetherhood . Each family member could be in different rooms (kitchen or dining or lounge area etc) performing their own separate and independant activities but it still feels like they're all together. 3. Safety . As a mother ,or parent , you're constantly needing to monitor the children even when cooking or whatever . If for instance you're cooking and you have toddlers and such , you can watch over them and make sure that they're not misbehaving, climbing unsafe surfaces , choking on hazardous items etc . 4. Like the real estate agent said , it allows for more natural light to flow into the house . That means you're (ultimately) saving light bill costs because you don't always need to switch on the light for reading or whatever really . Besides that natural lighting is optimal for vitamin D absorption which positively contributes to your overall happiness and mood . I HOPE THIS HELPS

I guess its simply a transfer from that aspect that we are rediscovering after travelling
