Ken's first Jeopardy! game is part of a special encore event re-airing of JEOPARDY! The Greatest of All Time. The tournament itself brings together the three highest money winners in the show’s history: Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer, and will be bookended by Ken's first and last games of his record-breaking 74-game streak.

One of the contestants during the run said that while they were taping, and of course the contestants are not allowed to watch the shows taped prior to their own, they heard scuttlebutt that someone has won 27 games in a row, and they all dismissed it as silly. Of course, turned out to be true, and Ken would go on to win 74 games in a row.

Alex must've realized that something big was going to happen when he said that he came out quickly because he needed to get the game going right away. And sure enough, something big DID happen. And that must've been Ken Jennings' incredible 74-game win streak, which we would all soon find out about, including my great-grandmother, who regularly watched Jeopardy! at the time.

I remember watching the run and thinking that this guy looks and sounds like a game show host. I'm sure I had lots of company in that perception. This was very early in social media, but even then I remember people saying that he should one day be the host of jeopardy.

wow, the champion was no slouch, 2 days 70,000 tha tis 35,000 per game for 2 days. that is generally considerd to be a very very good amount per game. and Julia was also very strong. than 75 games later history was made, and 15 years later, he beat all the GOATS to be the ultimate goat
