Honestly it kinda bothers me that Ken Jennings didn't get the job because of "past tweets". People need to learn to let stuff go. Everyone makes mistakes, it's stupid that we no longer allow people room to learn from their mistakes. This P.C. culture crap has gotten way out of hand. People will ruin the lives of other just because their feelings are hurt. Do we really think continuing to hurt others is the answer? We should give the ignorant a chance to learn.

The great thing about Alex was that he never wanted to be the feature of the show. He made it all about the game and the contestants. There will certainly never be another Alex Trebek, but I for one will continue watching for as long as possible since I care about the game itself and not the host at the lectern.

It’s funny to see him on “Concentration” with his moustache given I eventually got used to his clean shaven look. When I was little he did still have it for a while

No way, dude. Jennings erroneously thought Trump was going to start a war and basically said whomever he starts a war with, he hopes they bomb the Midwest and the South. How do you hope bombing and killing innocent Americans just because of who they voted for is even a joking matter?

Exactly! It was called the “Forrest bounce” for a reason. Sidenote: I did not know Ken used it, I always thought he used the traditional “top to bottom” strategy. (Then again I only watched a couple Ken episodes.)

@@davidtester3239 it’s confusing. The clip shows the contestant wrote “What is Istanbul?” The word Gypsy wasn’t used, unless they just didn’t show that part or something.

Wow you really can't pick up on nuance or tongue in cheek usages of words. First off, an executive producer hiring himself for a job that over 10 hosts were publicly competing for definitely counts a scandal, especially in the context of a show watched by millions every single day. Ken Jennings making insensitive remarks like "Nothing is sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair" got the backlash it deserved, and for some reason you think nobody should be held accountable for obnoxious and insensitive remarks. Besides, this list is obviously using a very loose definition of the word scandal for most of the entries. it's clear they mean jeopardy news stories that got a lot of attention, not necessarily a scandal. Obviously Trebek shaving a mustache is not a real scandal. You're that guy that takes everything literally aren't you?

@@20thCenturyFav I'm that chick who writes her impressions of things she has seen or read, without expecting everyone else to interpret them the same way. I CAN pick up on nuance and tongue-in-cheek, and that's why I don't take a tossed-off, foolish comment, like the example of Jenning's that you give, as a reason to deny someone a job, or worse. Unless you would put Alex Trebek's mustache on the same level as Watergate. The only real scandals listed in this video are what happened with Mike Richards and the Ken Jennings tweets that insulted the disabled community. The rest are just Jeopardy news items that got a lot of attention, but aren't scandals. Your takeaway from this video is that every single item on this list was a literal scandal and that people are snowflakes for getting offended at tweets mocking disabled people even if it's said in jest (as if that's a justification). The fact that Ken Jenning's tweet was tossed/off foolish comment doesn't excuse what was said or make its impact any less damaging. You could use the same logic to excuse someone using the N word. Is that a society you want to live in? Get real. This literally cost him the job of Jeopardy host, and it pissed off a ton of people, so yes it was a scandal. You can laugh off a joke that mocks the disabled community, but that says more about you than it does anything else. You're giving a pass to rude and insensitive remarks, your take on this issue is worthless since you are giving a pass for making ableist remarks and by extension, any racist/sexist remarks as well, as long as it was a 'tossed off' comment.
