As a Yankee fan, I’m glad Bobby Witt signed that long term deal with the Royals. I’m happy that a mall market club that people can buy his jersey and know that he’s going to be a Royals for a long time and that kids can grow up idolizing. Every fan base deserves that.

The Mets also drafted John Wetteland in 84, so they made up for the Abner pick (a little). lol

Come on Ken exit velocity is a joke stat Cruz hit a bunch of singles really hard, oh boy. Isn't it actual production that counts? How many RBI does a guy have? How about runs scored? What about average with runners in scoring position? OPS? I can hear the stat geeks 'well he went 0-5 but he hit three of those balls super hard'. For a guy who didn't play ball after high school I can hit the ball fairly hard but put me in an MLB at bat and I'd fall apart and embarrass myself. There's so many things that have to work before exit velocity even occurs I just can't take it seriously as a stat. There's too many players that can't hit MLB pitching but can crush junk really hard.

Paul Skenes getting a mention as a (future) Hall of Famer 1-1 draft pick while Chipper Jones gets nothing. Typical Ken. Now we know that you only got a job as a sportswriter because your friend got you the job. It's not what you know, it's who you know. Low people in high places.
