What’s sad is that the whole avalanche could’ve been avoided if Kenai didn’t neglect Koda immediately after he told him off for teasing Nita with the salmon.

Koda deserved that hug from Kenai ❤as a way to show they reconciled. It’s likely afterwards that Koda apologizes to Kenai for running away to the mountain and apologizing to Nita for teasing her with the salmon and being jealous, while Kenai would at least apologize to Koda for neglecting him during the song montage and for being harsh with him like yelling at him for his insensitivity.

As long as you learn a lesson and not being a fool! Get the fool out of yourself and you'll be listening to your concious! Koda feeling that way always reminds me on how how I felt that way and run away too if someone neglected me like that! Like Pluto running away from home after Mickey yelled at Pluto from Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas! Looks Mickey put stuff in Pluto's way and made Pluto cause accidents which isn't his fault!

Kenai is not to blame for what happened any more than Koda is. Kenai was falling in love, which is a perfectly natural and right thing and he genuinely needs the companionship of someone who is as mature as him and cares about Koda as much as he does; Nita is both. Kenai never let his priorities get mixed up, he was just excited and happy to have Nita in his life. Koda was, perfectly understandably, not mature enough to understand this, and things got out of hand for a minute there until Kenai and Koda talked. Nita, like the perfect match for Kenai that she is, understood that Kenai needed to stay with Koda, and respected that.
