Serious question: if we did, would the majority of BM earn more than $42K? Would BW have lower DV and homicide rates? Arguing that the reason BW have lower marriage rates due to issues that have no bearing on how we’re treated by BM collectively is simply poor logic. Marriage sadly isn’t valued in modern Black culture. That’s hardly the fault of BW alone. What “character” would that be? I grew up during crack-cocaine, the character of BW kept this community together. It’s unbelievable hearing the same regurgitated talking points from men creating bastardized biracial children more than any other group of men, holding BW to a European standard of femininity that BM fail when compared to masculinity. It’s unbelievable how so many folks in our community act as if marriage is something BM collectively prepare themselves for.

@@toricollins6516 I don’t know why some of you act like you have a problem with generalization, how else are we suppose to talk about a subject containing 20 Mill individuals. We can’t discuss every single person in the class, so yes we speak in generalities to understand the dynamics of the group. The fact that I have to explain that is what is wild!! Also you want evidence that BW make poor sexual decisions especially when they are young, how about the 40 MILLION ABORTIONS that black women had from 1980-2000!! The highest rate by far of any group. Men have absolutely zero control over abortive rights, that is solely the decision of black women. Very few abortions occur within marriages or for medical reasons, 99% happen to women who are not married who laid on their back with the wrong guy and now want to correct a mistake. That alone tells you what is happening in our community. And as far 42k a year goes, Latino men earn less than that and have no problem finding a wife, if he will work, a Latino women will be with him. I also grew up in the crack era’s in one of the toughest cities in the country (Memphis), in one of the toughest neighborhoods and I’m not sure what you saw from black women that you thought held us together, but ok. And I’ve lived in several big black cities, I grew up in Memphis, lived in DC for years, and now live in Atlanta and literally did not meet any black women that I thought I could easily be married too. None of them appealed to me as a wife, BW are the most physically appealing but not appealing as a wife. But I meet a few bi racial ones with white mothers and Latino ones, and Asians and white girls that I thought looked and acted like a wife. And I’m not the only guy that that has said this. We have been saying this shit for years, but just among ourselves. And all my close friends are professionals, make over 100k and are married. So this is not regurgitation internet talk, I’m in 40’s!! I chose to still marry a sister but honestly it wasn’t easy and wasn’t the best option available to me. I did it out of loyalty. BM have their difficulties also and there are definitely things to be critiqued but in this case I can speak definitely about what I and men in my financial and educational bracket have talked about for years! Im not saying it’s solely BW, BM play their role too, but I think the main culprit is poor dating habits and sexual control especially when BW are in their best years.
