I attended Essence the night Busta performed. And it was empty because it was pouring rain and it did not stop until after Busta performed. Also the Vice President made an appearance on the stage that night, so the Secret Service had the traffic backed up badly. So most of the people did not arrive until around 10pm.

I gotta disagree with the homie. The reason the term Christ is NOT a name but a TITLE is because a "Christ" is a model for behavior showing consideration for the greater good through self sacrifice. What Kendrick does in his music is give his "offering" to the people with considerations to the greater good by way of the substances of his "scriptures" (rhymes). This is not to say he's a messiah but it does say he understands the story well enough to model the behavior of Christ by adding something positive in the face of negativity. Nobody who actually understands the story should have a problem with Kendrick trying to offer positive messages in his rhymes. That's what he's supposed to do if he's a true follower of "Christ".

I speak about 2Pac as a real human so that means ups and downs. Alot of people talk about Pac as a mythological Christ figure cause they was babies when he was alive so they talking about what they feel rather then people that actually lived through the Pac era and could see it for what it really was.
@linusfingesi2222
@linusfingesi2222 17 күн бұрын
@@leroygreen6310Well I disagree with you a bit....even when Pac was alive, he did have this charismatic character that went beyond Rap music (sometimes for wrong things) if you lived outside the States you would understand how Pac was perceived....in some countries (especially predominantly Black One's) Pac's death was taken in the same way people took John Lennon's death....that's why if you travel round the world you will hear Pac in every nook and cranny and its not because of some pushed agenda...its just a unique situation with PAC the same way people put Lennon on a pedestal that goes beyond the Man he really was in real life.
@leroygreen6310
@leroygreen6310 17 күн бұрын
@@linusfingesi2222 No one's saying Pac wasn't charismatic. Aside from rapper Pac was also a movie star so I get it. I'm from the place Pac called home which is the Bay Area in Oakland so of course people took it hard but while he was alive the glossy way people look at him after death wasn't how he's described. The looked at him the same way they did Ice Cube or Ice T which was a rapper slash actor but not everybody was acting like he was black Jesus before he died.
@leroygreen6310
@leroygreen6310 17 күн бұрын
@@linusfingesi2222 The same goes for Nipsey. What I'm saying is stop waiting for a rapper to die to feel this way. Identify who the ones with messianic energy are while their still alive so Kdot in a crown of thorns should be applauded rather then criticized cause it's not blasphemous to wear an object used for torture as a reminder of one's sacrifice.

@@leroygreen6310it's a matter of perspective, hence I brought Lennon into the conversation....People that knew Lennon personally would tell you not so nice things about him (and Yoko Ono) and his behaviour, but world wide he was seen as a genius and "Spiritual" so you can say the same about Pac....People that knew him personally saw the side of him the world don't see, but thats for all kind of Artists like that...so you can understand how his charisma goes beyond Hip Hop if the world holds him up on a pedestal, because all artist have the same chance and are not seen in the same light....Biggie also died a tragic death but he isn't seen as that dude outside the US like Pac is...its just a strange phenomenal.

Drake represents introverts let me ask ya a honest question when have you ever met a genuinely positive introvert? You ever seen that movie Revenge of the Nerds these days that's how introverts operate Kendrick is a extrovert bringing people together Dancing and fellowshiping notice no alcohol or drugs in the Not Like Us video my opinion introverts aren't going to like this video they aren't going to like whats finna happen where we might see kids start actually going outside again putting their phones down get away from gaming and start really gaming outside playing Basketball Football Masculine stuff this is THE AGE OF AQUARIUS all that stuff that happened in the Drake Era us coming to a end and introverts you had your run now it's extroverts turn.
@leroygreen6310
@leroygreen6310 19 күн бұрын
Kendrick has been described as an introvert by people that know him before he was famous. That's the disconnect with people that don't feel like he's a star imo. You can see it in him by how he moves like if he wasn't a artist he probably wouldn't wanna be famous at all. He rarely speaks in interviews or on social media and isn't involved in anything outside of his own circle in rap. Meanwhile Drake is every where so Drake is prolly the extrovert between the two.
@WolfAdonai100
@WolfAdonai100 19 күн бұрын
@@leroygreen6310 Not saying your reply isn't a bad opinion but the fact that you described extroverts of just being everywhere tells me you don't really know about extroverts theirs 4 types of Extroverts Kendrick is the Problem Solver the speaker amongst groups the Extroverted thinker he's just not the Energized Extrovert he probably can get Energized I'll put it to you like this he's that dude at work where you might think he's unapproachable or nerdy because of the glasses come to find out he's one of the bros a solid individual Drake is a introvert who got a taste of fame you gotta remember Hip Hop is a Extroverted genre and to be the man you have to do Extroverted things which i think low key Drake hates notice Drake can't work with anyone look what he's going through right now all those features hits back then was like a introvert training a new employee and if he liked you then he would give you more features Drake was selective on how he moved and still moves like a introvert but Kendrick being the Extroverted thinker is going to not shy away from having those intellectual conversations kinda like J. Cole an Extroverted thinker Soulja Boy for instance is a Extroverted Sensor a Sensor who likes to be out in the world who finds joy Drake is an image guy kinda like how introverts are self aware only Sociable to people he likes just cause Kendrick isn't in front of the cameras makes him a introvert he's that I do my 9 to 5 clock out then go home to my family type but at the same time he's for the bros

"Not Like Us" music video is overrated, Kendrick is not entertaining as a person, no performance energy. The shot were he is driving with DJ Mustard in the car😂 at the end of the day Kendrick is not a traditional star he is a BLM/activist rapper, and the Commons, and the Nas do it better
@leroygreen6310
@leroygreen6310 19 күн бұрын
So Kendrick is a "BLM/activist rapper so would it be better if he was a drill rapper? How Kdot get dissed for being positive fam? And no he's not the traditional star but I think he's the everyday kinda person that was able to get through in Hip Hop. The "stars" are few and far between and alot of those didn't even need to be famous to be stars cause they was already that even without the fame. Think the people that got voted most popular in middle school and then was almost voted most popular again in High School cause thats really who they are as people. Kendrick was never that and people that knew him before rap would say he kept to himself and was a quiet person so the reason people don't look at him as a "star" is because thats not part of his personality but thats not always a necessity when it comes to conveying music.

It may come off as me being a contrarian but I think Kendrick is a top 10 mainstream act as a rapper all time. I’ve seen his Mr morale tour & to see a rapper be able to practice choreographed dances & to have immersive set pieces was ridiculous. To say he’s not entertaining or boring then show me someone with more personality on song & in their performances. His Grammy performance was amazing. Like to me he’s one of our greatest performers.
