What’s up guys and welcome back to the channel. So it seems like kendrick is not done ruining drakes life because word on the street is he just ruined Drake's 460 million dollar Nike deal. Now for some of you who may not know, drake was set to release some Nikes this month and they did come out but they are reportedly not doing so well and obviously its because of this whole beef with kendrick lamar. I mean people really hate drake. He’s been getting a lot of hate from fans and artists as well. So the report says, drake dropping new nike sneakers amid kendrick lamar beef now It was the nike nocta hot step 2 white colorway that was scheduled to be released may 9th. Online shoppers would have been able to purchase this for 200 dollars. On the Nike website, the article says since Drake and Nike launched Nocta in 2022, the two collaborative partners have proved formidable.
Athletes and fans have been treated to a wide range of sneakers, apparel designed for life's biggest moments. Now it's being reported that nobody is buying Drake's new Nike shoe after his beef with Kendrick Lamar. It says when you're as big a star as Drake has been for the last decade, plus getting into rap beef come with a ton of risks. Many people and brands have invested millions of dollars into Drake's talent and career. That's not just the case on the music side. Brands like Nike have endorsed the Toronto pop star through the years. Right now, that endorsement isn't looking so good. Kendrick Lamar has seemingly done the impossible and turned the public against Drake, leading to more than 1 million dislikes on his latest response record, The Heart Part 6.
The God's Plan rapper has creative ownership under the Nocta deal which is the Nike deal. And has deep involvement in the project, ensuring that it truly represents his vision and artistic integrity. While specific financial details of Drake's Nike deal have not been disclosed, it's considered a significant and lucrative collaboration. And some speculate that the deal is worth more than an estimated 450 million. Now I’ve seen the shoes. I think they are ok. Nothing too fancy that stands out for me at least and I’ve seen some people unbox them online and they seem to like them. But I will say this. I do think that the timing for drake couldn’t have been any worse. I mean its one thing for you to be accused of hiding a daughter especially after you hid your son from the world at first. But its a whole other thing to be accused of being a pedo and for girls to start speaking out. and I think this is what UMG had an issue with. They had invested too much money in drake and so did nike so the pedo allegations were bound to ruin drakes reputation and affect sales.
And you know what, I know for a fact kendrick is smiling right now because there was this email that leaked where UMG basically wanted kendrick to take back the allegations and publicly apologise to Drake so they can move on. But I don’t think he apologised. I think he’s probably still standing on business like yeah, I said what I said. What you gon do about it? I think in the near future we may see these brands start to dis associate themselves from drake like how they did in diddy’s case because cancel culture is real and businesses can’t afford to heamorage money like that any more.
