Some of y’all comments are so ungrateful. Ken made a video tutorial how to make the dern biscuits. Y’all are complaining he didn’t make enough. Do you think he needed to make 16 trays of biscuits to get the concept? He made a decent portion for you to get the idea of how to make the biscuits. SIMPLE.😊

I am gonna add to your comment, and I will be a shoutin': HELLOHHH! FLAKY BISCUITS FOR TWO! FLAKY BISCUITS FOR TWO! FLAKY BISCUITS FOR TWO! What does one NOT get about THIS video is for a 2-SERVINGS ONLY recipe? That is PRECISELY why I wanted to watch this video. Not everyone WANTS to make 12,16, 24, 48, and so on, biscuits. EYE wanted to make biscuits for my husband for breakfast as a special treat. USUALLY I get the frozen, "all ya gotta do is bake" Southern Style. This is going to be a great addition to my recipe box.

When you were squeezing the butter and said, "It's easy, no problem at all" it reminded me of Bob Ross and then it kept happening. In case it's not clear, this is a serious compliment. Happy little biscuits. You are the Bob Ross of Biscuits.

I know it’s been a while since this was uploaded, but I absolutely love these KZfaqrs that show you how to make food in small portions, the majority of people watching cooking tutorials usually don’t need 20 biscuits. All I want is to be able to make a Egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit in the morning, without any leftovers.

I am a 60yo recent widower who's been learning to cook for himself on a regular basis. I've been doing the two-ingredient self-rising "Quick Biscuit" box recipe for a while and while it did the job, it just wasn't what I was looking for. Your recipe wasn't much more work and definitely tastier, fluffier, and flakier with just a touch of crispy crunch on the bottom. Thanks for taking me a step closer to enjoying my home-cooked meals again.

My grandpa in Oklahoma used to make biscuits when I was a kid in the 50's (I'm 72) that you'd have to nail to the table to keep 'em from floatin' away. Sadly, I never paid attention. My mom?? She tried. Sadly, you could use hers for hockey pucks.

Now that's what I call biscuits! I'm 89 years old and I've made biscuits with plain flour and sweet milk for many many years. My mother and my grandmother made biscuits like this. There's a lot of buttermilk biscuit recipes, and I have nothing against buttermilk biscuits, but sweet milk biscuits are the ones that break into layers, while the buttermilk ones are fluffy and a little more cake like. It all depends on what you like. I'm just glad to see someone speaking up for those good old sweet milk biscuits. Great video. I like your use of the word "gentle." It speaks of respect and appreciation for a good, homely item of food that has been loved for generations.

I started back making biscuits the year before last. This was the first time since I was teenager in the early 1970's. I was in the mood one night and made some. You should have heard my wife when she tried one.😂 "You're the official biscuit maker now," she said. After I cut the butter into the flour, sometimes with cheedar, I put the bowl into the freezer for at least 20 minutes. Then I mix the milk/cream in. My finicky sister says mine with cheese remind her of Red Lobster's.

I made Vegan biscuits on accident...This was a perfect beginner easy flaky biscuits recipe! I followed your instructions (with my substitutes: almond coconut milk instead of cow's milk, plant based butter instead of cow's butter), and it was so easy to do. I wasn't trying to make a vegan version, but that's all we had in the apartment at the time. They tasted really good too. Because I don't cook with much salt, I'll put a little less than 1/4tsp of salt in next time and hope I don't mess it up. LOL. Thank you so much for sharing. You're a fantastic instructor.

I want to thank you. I am 65 years old. I am looking for a recipe to teach youngsters how to make very flaky biscuits. Yours was one of the very very few videos that explained how to make flaky biscuits. People have forgotten that biscuits are flaky when you minimize how much dusting flour you use when you're rolling and cutting biscuits. Also dust off the flower before you put a biscuit in a fry pan but the most important factor you mentioned that other people forget to say is flaky biscuits depend on minimizing how you handle the dough. Specifically you don't whip the milk with the dough you don't start firmly or quickly. The proper way to make flaky biscuits is a forgotten way. . And that is to gently mix the moisture be it water or buttermilk or regular milk in with the dough. That is a very forgotten technique that needs to be brought back into teaching how to make flaky biscuits. So thank you very much. If people follow your instructions they will have wonderful success.

being southern I learned to make cornbread years and years ago, but I couldn't make a decent biscuit. Till today....2 cups flour, 3/4 cup milk or thereabouts, and added one big tablespoon of sour cream. Finally did the folding and not flatten out the dough as much as I used to--yes! Flaky and fluffy biscuits....oh to have had KZfaq 40 years ago.

Confectionery in training here! This man is absolutely right, you don't need any special type of flour or sugar or dairy to make a flaky dough! Flakes happen, when the fat mixed in the dough (butter, margarine, actual fat) raises the dough levels that they are in between in the oven. The heat makes the fat cook and the moisture from it evaporate, and the steam lifts the individual layers of dough, and because of the grease, those levels won't stick together anymore after cooling!
