@@tenciaga Young Thug is in jail and has a Grammy win for his role in Childish Gambino’s “This is America.” Thug gets tons of recognition and respect. Outkast are the OGs of Atlanta rap. They put their city on the map. Lots of love for Wayne putting New Orleans rap into the mainstream. Birdman’s really high up there, too. Major shout outs to Three 6 Mafia’s work in the early ‘90s to mid 2000s. Memphis rap had such a major impact on the last 20+ years of hip hop. Whether it’s $uicideBoy$ or LiL Peep, Thug or Rocky, there’s so much to thank the Memphis dudes for. Three 6, Outkast, Wayne/Birdman, and so many Houston dudes sculpted the current rap landscape. Southern rap was what I grew up with.
