"Kenobi: Trials Of The Master" is a feature-length fan retelling of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It uses the footage from the Series with other films in the franchise, and utilizes VFX, editing and new footage to create a completely new take on the story. It is intended to entertain and inspire the fan base, as well as to educate the upcoming artists on the possibilities of modern filmmaking.
This is not intended to interfere, or belittle, or replace the original series in any way. That's not even possible, and that was never my intention. And if it was even possible, I would never want it. This is my personal take on the story, and my ultimate love letter to the Star Wars universe.
This whole educational project wouldn't be possible without the artists and the entire creative team that made the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, so go and watch it on Disney+.
-The time has come! Not to release the film, unfortunately, for that we'll have to wait for 2023. But the trailer is here, and that's only a fraction of what's to come!

Guys I just found out about this today and I cannot be more hyped. I have shared the AD_edits trailer with so many people and we want to watch it so bad. I really hope it's close to release!! (but I don't mind waiting until it's ready, i'd hate for them to rush release. If it's anything like the trailer this edit is going to be incredible.)

Holy shit... I have not been interested in star wars for years now even as a dedicated life long fan since I born. I have not watched any of the Kenobi show or any of the more newer stuff like the Mandalorian but now after finding out about this.. it just reignited a spark in my heart that has been out for years, the atmosphere, the symbolism, the new shots, THE MUSIC!! grand inquisitors rebel voice dub!? the way Vader seems so calculated and cold I cannot describe how amazed I am by this, this feels like a long lost spinoff movie that could have connected the gap between Revenge and Hope perfectly. I can tell you guys poured your heart and souls into this, the amount of passion and love is just amazing to see I am beyond hopeful with this project. I wish you all the best making this. This looks absolutely spectacular!

I'm so excited for this to come out, I remember reading all your comments on the subreddit when Kenobi first came out and even disagreeing with some of them. But I'm excited to see it and I thank you for this labour of love!

Wow this actually looks like exactly what I originally wanted from this programme! The new voice acting for the grand inquisitor is an excellent touch as well, I can already tell it is the next best thing to Jason Isaacs himself! Take as long as you need to release this, don't make the mistake a lot of major studios seem to make these days by it pushing out early. One question I have is will you be redoing the soundtrack? I personally found it generally very boring throughout the series, and definitely in the need of some prequel themes.

I hope, thanks to you, I will not abandon this SW universe, having become disillusioned with the policies of dictators represented by Disney and Lucas FIlm, the galaxy is waiting for a new republic or Emperor, who will destroy the dictatorship of Disney and bring good to the galaxy. Amazing work, you deserve some contract work from Disney ! I wonder if you would be planning a CGI tweak of the silly laser barrier scene where Obi Wan could have walked round it so he had no need to shoot out the controls in the original scene ? 😅 maybe that gap needs to be plugged …

Yeah as you can see it will be pushed back definitely, but the project is coming along incredibly well, it's just that VFX take a lot of time.

Looks awesome!! ...but are you able to change it enough so that Reva's motivation makes sense? I still don't get the point of her helping the guy she wants revenge against (Vader) find the guy that he wants revenge against (Kenobi) and in the end going to kill the kid that the guy was protecting (Luke). Also, did lightsabers become weaker?? Before they could cut off entire limbs and impale people but in this show, two people get impaled and it's barely a minor inconvenience.

The music is so important. Most people don´t realise and focus on the visuals too much. But if you think about it, the best movies were I to VI. Why? Because the music was amazing. The Star Wars movies and series of nowadays have such a lame music. The music doesn´t contribute to the feeling of the stories anymore. Its just some background music you could hear in a hotel lobby. I am convinced great music makes great movies. I wish movie producers would focus on music much more these days.

It's a feature length cut/rework of the Kenobi series into a film called "Kenobi: Trials of The Master". It will have slightly altered story and a LOT of new VFX to help out with the storytelling and lore consistency.

There are a lot of new additional VFX which look amazing, including making the Grand Inquisitor actually look like how he's supposed to based on his other appearances in comics and Rebels. Plus the voice is a huge improvement, he actually comes across as menacing as he's supposed to be.

Btw. shilly, there's no such thing as "disney VFX artists". Disney by proxy owns ILM, but it's far from the only company that does VFX for Star Wars. It is mostly outsourced to the outside companies, but you'd know that if you were in the industry ;)
