This is great stuff. I feel like one of the reasons I’m learning bebop is for the challenge. If you get good at improvising at this speed in this style, everything else is probably a lot easier.

More wonderful content - I love the way you really have something for everyone. It means that some of your lessons are pitched right at my skill level: this one is perfect. (I fully intend to get this under firm control before unleashing it on our bass layer!)

This Tune is clearly an Amalgame of for instance a Tune Like Stable mates, a few Parker Tunes, what about writing an alternative theme about this Chorus??? Thank you My Friend Kent for doing your Promise come True!!! Great!

I took some time away from Kent's videos because I have been going thru his book that I highly recommend, and again his refreshing style of teaching never ceases to amaze!

Also, what not every starting Jazz srudent knoiws nor realize is this: Each and every Tune that has ever been written, does attain some jazz secret and the next will have some of former secrets but expanded with at least one new concept or idea...this is seeable and even noticable when we look carfully to for instance Tunes like: Autumn Leaves All the Things you are(same idea with modualtions bridge in Gmaj...modulating to Em but Picardian You're so nice to come home, a again a minor Tune seemingly but actually in Bbmaj but same idea as All th things seemingly in Fm but in fact more Abmajorish-ish isn't it !??/ to It could happen to you, again a minor Tune but now 3 or 4 modualtions in the first 4 or 5 bars....so it is brought to extremitie's what we see blossom in You e so nice to come home to than the Tune Butterfly, Pannonica of Thelonious Monk is blossoming in to a Modern Jazz Quartet Tune again changed by a Bill Evans Tune The Wink of an Eye.. where in the same Key Bb7 with Bb C D E melodie going to resolve in to not Cmaj7 as you would think the melodie is suggesting but Ebmaj7 in stead and than it makes a nice Abmaj7 +5 Dbmaj7 twist where the melodie is propelled nicely mirrored in to but using a +5 in the melodie so a bit alterated for unexpected-move purposes, also the Special of 16 bars in double tempo so according to the standard bars also in 16ths writen instead of 8th as a 8 bars "Bridge" sho the love for original or maybe fake whatever it is is Who know where it comes from pleas enlighten me ...maybe a Flute sonata sombody ones told me...but the main idea is that the original Bebop style is just rather in an ingenius way combined or compilated with almost original baroque...the feel than differs and the xylophe player of the Modern jazz Quartet does a fine job to let it sound as made in heaven....

Stable Mates, Joy Spring(Hemiole), Conception, Parker Tunes/Lick the #9 b9 +5 b7 in the melodie, the Dbmaj aspect of Stable Mates, maybe Jeanine where modulating from minor to major7 chords the very melodic concept as a rule of thumb woth those bebop tunes??? maybe Along came betty and Benny Golson Tunes with weird chord changes or strange Doimnant or II V substitus even like Coltranes Moment's Notice?? or are those Tunes all earlier...I am not a history know it all so please make my Mind come clear...!!!

Forgive me for asking, but this is a sincere question. Is this piano horribly out of tune? Or is it microphone placement? Or what am I missing? // When you travel to your vacation home and use the electric keyboard piano... it's pure bliss... fully in tune. This home piano just kills me.
