Keyshawn has no idea what he is talking about here. We don't show up to see Cal or the one and done's, we show up because we bleed blue. The history and tradition of being a competitive, top level program for 80 plus years. We are done with Cal and his excuses. He builds the roster, he chooses his players, so he is responsible for the results. 5 plus years of unacceptable results is more than enough time to change and adapt. He is too arrogant and narcissistic to change. Also he is not getting his teams prepared to play, just watch the tape they acted surprised that Oakland played zone... that's all they play.

Not necessarily. They recruit the best players possible and hope that they can make a solid team out of pieces that don’t necessarily fit for team basketball. You won’t end up with a bad team, but you can likely end up with a team that is less effective and efficient than a more mature team that has less talent.

Clearly Keyshawn doesn’t get it. The arena is filled because Kentucky fans love their program, dare I say, as much or more than any fanbase loves their team in any sport. UK means EVERYTHING to this state, bit the fans are NOT ok with this. We are done being an NBA factory, we are done having Drake around the program, we are done being told we struggle because “we are young” when the coach CHOOSES to make the team young, and we are done failing every single postseason after being told throughout the year “we are built for march”. Cal did great things here, but all good things must come to an end and the end for Cal at Kentucky is here as far as 95% of the fans are concerned.

Listen, Cal has been here in this same position now since 2015 and we talk about him losing his job every year we don’t make a splash on the tournament. I listened to these kids postgame saying the loss is on them. But the fact and the matter is, Cal hasn’t changed his mindset after all these tournament losses. He still goes after freshman, he doesn’t try to retain them, he’s more here for the players than for the fans and the organization. His mindset has to change. He is still a great coach, just has to adapt to college basketball in 2024

UConn has 3 one and done players and could win it all. Duke’s roster next year-loaded-could win it all. put Kelvin Sampson or Scott Drew or Rick Pitino or Bruce Pearl as the coach of Kentucky and GUARANTEED they wouldn’t be ranked 108th in DEFENSE. the standard for UK basketball is just like any other blue blood.

No one stays at "our" school and most teams have older rosters with players who've played in big games... yeah I was thinking fire him last night but then the stats key gave man's a lot ... we have the youngest top 25 team... the two guys we got as to picks in the draft come off the bench 🤷🏾 they both are fouls waiting to happen and Sheppard wasn't himself last night you gotta admit 🤷🏾 young players seize up in big moments and gamse and we constantly did that this year... we had the highest scoring team but barely any defense becaue they were all young 🤷🏾 we need to try to convince a couple guys to stay longer to help build the culture all this 6 new freshmen or more a year is not cutting it!! 🤷🏾 we can get a new coach but none of them you named had gotten the talent he has had consistently like cal .... also yes we may not win but as key said we put guys in the NBA and we lead evey year of the most players in the NBA 🤷🏾 imagine if some of then just stayed to win a title and we got the new good young guys?? We'd have the chips if the guys stayed🤷🏾

He puts players into the NBA. That’s what these top players care about the most. They aren’t there to build a program and they aren’t there to develop their teamwork. They are there because the NBA essentially mandates it. The championship doesn’t mean anything to them. The NBA game is in a lot of ways different than college. The NBA is built around superstars playing like superstars. Shooters shooting, slashers driving and big men playing big. These are the type of players that Kentucky has, which is incompatible to winning championship basketball in college.

John Calipari has a savior complex. He addicted to the idea that “I need to improve the lives of these young black inner city players and their families”, and that ego doesn’t translate into wins because freshman don’t win titles and no matter how talented a freshman may be a 22 year old is always going to have an experience and maturity advantage. All Cal will do is bring in more 18 year olds next season, push out the sophomores and juniors, and flame out again early in the tournament. Rinse and repeat

I'm gonna keep it real. And this is what teams in the mid major and some teams like my Syracuse Orange do. They recruit guys who aren't too recruits that fit the system. Guys who will play all 4 years. I'd rather coach those guys up and have a solid team to compete year after year rather than a bunch of guys who will be out after one year. No continuity. No familiarity. No real run time together.

Cal gets paid 9 million dollars to coach at UK and a coaching staff that makes several million as well. A guy making 300k beat him last night. Uk has had 3 big tournament runs 2015 final 4 loss , 2017 elite 8 loss, 2019 elite 8 loss. No success after 2019 we have won 1 SEC tournament game and 1 NCAA tournament game. Does that sound like thats worth 9 million?

If you fire him who do you get to replace him? I think it’s the ups and downs of a blue blood college basketball program. If you take away the 2022 NCAA run to the championship. UNC has been underwhelming since their last title in 2017. Duke probably has recruited just as much talent as Kentucky and they haven’t been amazing either. Kansas is having a down year this year. It happens.
